Dungeon Siege Exception Detected Windows 10
View Profile View Posts 29 Aug, 2013 @ 4:14am Exception detected When I tried to start up the game it came up with some error saying this wasn't compatible with my OS, but I just pressed run program. I made my character, and got a bit into the opening cutscene when a box popped up and said "Exception detected" and said it may take a few minutes to complete. Then it went away, the man in the cutscene said a few more words and then the game crashed. Did this happen because I ran the game instead of searching for a fix or is this a common problem? I'm running Vista HP. < > Showing 1-7 of 7 comments Mycky Irish View Profile View Posts 29 Aug, 2013 @ 9:35am This just happened to me too in the exact same manner. I'm running Windows 7. Just got to chapter 4 tonight and was working my way through the forest when I got hit by this "Exception Detected' crash. I did a search on this forum and tried doing what others had mentioned, about disabling the Steam Overlay and running the game in xp sp 2 compatibility mode, but I get this crash once I try to move and can't figure out why. Would suck if I did all that hard work for nothing. :-( I'm on Windows 7. < > Showing 1-15 of 22 comments Mysterio28 View Profile View Posts 27 Apr, 2014 @ 11:04pm Strange, I went ahead and loaded up a previous save

Wonder how many people are experiencing this... "Alien" 04-19-2011, 10:13 PM #4 AlienOne Guest Posts: n/a Hey, I just fixed my own problem... I had it set up for a widescreen resolution in the .ini file (1440x900), and it would do the exception crash right at the end of the "preparing world" load screen every time. I just went to videoconfig (the app included to change the video card/resolution/filtering) and picked a resolution as well as changed my display driver from the "TnL" option to the non TnL option... Now, since I still have 1440x900 written into the .ini file, it kept my 1440x900 resolution, but fixed the load problem. Not exactly sure if it has something to do with the TnL problem or not, but that fixed it for me.
