I made my character, and got a bit into the opening cutscene when a box popped up and

said "Exception detected" and said it may take a few minutes to complete. Then it went away, the man in the cutscene said a few more words and then the game crashed. Did this happen because I ran the game instead of searching for a fix or is this a common problem? I'm running Vista HP. < > Showing 1-7 of 7 comments Mycky Irish View Profile View Posts 29 Aug, 2013 @ 9:35am This just happened to me too in the exact same manner. I'm running Windows 7. I have Windows 8 as well, and I had similar problems, such as the game would just quit on me because of the compatibility problems. What you do is go into the Dungeon Siege file in your hard drive,

XD Solution: Run DSVideoConfig.exe in the Steam\Steamapps\common\dungeon siege 1\ directory and change the Video Driver dungeon siege from "Primary Display Driver - Hardware TnL" to "*whatever your video driver is*" *Note the lack of "TnL". After that just to be sure I went to the actual Dungeon Siege application, right clicked and went to properties, and in compatibility, ticked to run the game in compatibility mode with Windows XP, SP2 version. --------------------------------- Ok so I just brought the collection dungeon siege 2 of DS games through the sale. I was really keen to get into the game because I loved DS.. Now I have the message come up saying the game isn't compatible with my PC, and when I run it I can't play. I get through the opening cinematic (or try to skip the cinematic) and get the message "Exception Detected" .. and once that's done what it needs to the game crashes and I can't play it. How can I fix this?
