Bottom Topic Subject:Objects.dsres file and Single-Player game!? NExUS Dungeoneerer posted 04-12-02 10:44 PM EDT (US) Hello,I just installed the game fine, and when I try to go into a Single-Player game I get an error saying "Decoding Error..." and it points to the file Objects.dsres in the Resource sub-directory. Anyways, I'm thinking it may be a result of my video card.. not sure though...The card I'm using:ATI Radeon 7000/VE 32mb DDRI've updated the drivers as well for it (I have ver. 6.13 at the moment). After the error pops up, the game crashes back to the destop. But here's the funny thing, considering it is my video card... it shouldn't work at all right? Well if I try to play the game hosting a LAN game... it works!!!???Anyways, is anyone out there able to play single-player using a Radeon 32mb DDR VE card??? Or does anyone know what the heck is going on???Thanx,- NExUS AuthorReplies: Zen Ghost (id: Angel Zen) posted 04-13-02 02:45 AM EDT (US) 1 / 10 uninstall DS and reinstall... see if that works? nightfalcon Dungeoneerer posted 04-15-02 07:20 PM EDT (US) 2 / 10 Hi Angel, hi Nexus!I have the same problem as you. I have this problem with all dsres files in the /resources folder. As Nexus reported the program terminates with a so called "decoding error! Data is corrupted or unreadable..." and as with Nexus I can start a multiplayer game.If I activate "verifydata=true" in the command line I get several of these messages. It makes me believing that this is not a real decoding error because the error occurs with random dsres-files at random positions.Uninstalling and re-installation wasn't succe

Quote:what does this mean besides error? This looks like a corrupted resource file (objects.dsres)... but strangely there is a typo in the error. art\bitmaps\gui\in_game\invintory\armor\body_armor\b_gui_ig_i_a_pos_a2_055.raw instead of: art\bitmaps\gui\in_game\inventory\armor\body_armor\b_gui_ig_i_a_pos_a2_055.raw Possibly a symptom of something larger (other corrupted file, bad hard-disk sector, pirated software...). You could try using TankViewer to see if the named raw file is OK or not. If not, the only solution is to get the file from the disk. Before you ask, requesting the file to be sent to you is
