My brother gave me an old one of his when he found out. Both are 4th generation Classics and 20 GB click wheels. I tried to sync his after I replaced the screen and it said it needed to be restored. I did. Now it will reset using the toggle and pressing the two buttons until the Apple appears, but then it will not power up and shows a picture of a plug and wall outlet. I plugged it into the wall, but the message or picture will not go away? This is problem #1. The IPOD from eBay powered on, but when I tried to sync it after I downloaded iTunes 10 and some music. It said it needed to be restored as well cause it was corrupted? I did, and got this message "The IPOD "IPOD" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1437)" I searched this forum as directed to do as a beginner and the apple support website too. I could not

Unplug your iPod from the computer. Go to Start>Settings>Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs and find iTunes on that list. Remove it. Reboot your computer. If you can download iTunes from the Apple website or if you have, install it from CD. Plug your iPod in and see what it does. Worst case scenario is that you lose your library. Make sure you copied your music and other files to a different directory. Good luck and let us know if this helped. Was this answer helpful?
