I have been trying error 2 the system cannot find the file specified sql server so many things to try and fix it but with no luck. At first there was programs blocking port 80. A few of the programs I tried to stop on port 80 are skype, World Wide Web Publishing Service, IIS(Internet Information Services), and NT Kernal & System. Then I ran Apache in the cmd. I typed: cd:/apache/bin then I typed httpd.exe but nothing happened and the cursor just kept blinking on the next line. I also went to

However, if you want to start Apache via command prompt. First thing you check if the syntax in your conf files is ok. Open a command prompt as an Administrator. Change to Apache bin directory and use below command. httpd -t If it returns Syntax OK, that's a good news. Errors will be displayed if any. Fix all errors. Once syntax looks ok, run below command to start Apache. httpd -k start It should start your Apache. If it doesn't check /logs/error.log and see what's going on. Good Luck! share|improve this answer answered Dec 23 '14 at 18:58 slash 495613 I tried that and this popped up in the error log(nothing happened in the cmd): Starting the Apache2.4 service [Tue Dec 23 14:56:14.534412 2014] [mpm_winnt:crit] [pid 9136:tid 280] (OS 2)The system cannot find the file specifie

Description Oyvind Johansen 2004-12-23 09:00:58 UTC When trying to start Apache I get this message in my log: " [Thu Dec 23 07:47:39 2004] [crit] (OS 2)The system cannot find the file specified. : Parent: Unable to connect https://bz.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=32823 child stdout to NUL.\n [Thu Dec 23 07:47:39 2004] [crit] (OS 2)The system cannot find the file specified. : master_main: create child process failed. Exiting. " It would help a lot to get to know: * What module is reporting this error * What file could not be found * What is the use of the file This could be achieved by better documentation and logging in code. It might not be considered as a bug, but I feel it belongs in Bugzilla because the logfile fails to explain what really happened. The loglevel was set to debug and the "error" has been reported on three different installation with various configurations. One of them trying to host Bugzilla. Comment 1 André Malo 2004-12-24 00:11:44 UTC The module reporting is the core ("parent"). The error message is the system message of OS errorcode 2. Actually I find that the log message is quite descriptive. Comment 2 Tim Bapp 2005-05-12 01:23:37 UTC I am also getting this version of this error: [Wed May 11 17:41:45 2005] [error] (OS 2)The system cannot find the file specified. : No installed service named "Apache2". I googled this problem and a few suggestions were https://www.sitepoint.com/community/t/no-installed-service-named-apache2/2297 make sure the port Apache 2 is listening on is a different port such as 8080. It is on 8080, so that is http://serverfault.com/questions/597318/event-logger-wont-start-error-2-the-system-cannot-find-the-file-specified-win not the problem. Use netsat -a to see if some other service is using the port. There is no other service using 8080. error 2 The test configuration went ok, after I commented out the Add type problem. I am wondering if the issue has to do with previous versions of Apache (1.3) and PHP (EasyPHP) on my machine. I thought I checked the registry for all remnants of them and there error 2 the aren't any traces. Any ideas?I am using Windows XP he. Thanks in advance.cyuno cyuno 2005-12-06 04:16:56 UTC #2 I found that going in the DOS box doing the following fixed part of the problem: c:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\bin>Apache -k installApache -k start fixed the "no installed service named "Apache2" " However, because I still have a remnant somewhere in my system of a previous Apache 1.3 Easy PhP bundle, I went to control panel, administrative tools, and highlighted the Apache 1.3 Easy PHP service, went to properties and disabled it. Now Apache 2, is up and running. I hope this helps anyone who comes across the same situation in Windows XP home edition. system 2014-10-08 00:34:06 UTC #3 Home Categories FAQ/Guidelines Terms of Service Privacy Policy Powered by Discourse, best viewed with JavaScript enabled Shop Versioning Reference Articles Premium
