Recently, my company decided to migrate to 2.0. I am struggling mightily to figure 2.0 out, but am not having much luck. My most current problem is that I can no longer compile my website on localhost. When I attempt to open my solution in VS2005, I receive the following error window: "You are attempting to open a precompiled Web site. You can view the site, but changes might cause the Web site to stop functioning. To modify a site, it is recommended that you edit the files in the original Web site, precompile the site, and then publish it again." As the error states, I cannot make changes to my application. When I attempt to compile the website the following error is thrown: "This application is already precompiled". Is there a way to undo this precompilation??????????????????????? What a mess. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! dinorider Reply Troy_Dot_Net None 0 Points 9 Posts Re: Error: This application is already precompiled Jan 19, 2006 09:10 AM|Troy_Dot_Net|LINK > Is there a way to undo this precompilation??????????????????????? My developers didn't tell me this was a different type of application. Specifically it is a COTS product SDK that has some development and distribution limitations built in. These included the PrecompiledApp.config file being in the web application source code.
