Apache starts fine from the XAMPP Control Panel, but I want to be able to control it from a command prompt. When I http://stackoverflow.com/questions/17116757/apache-xampp-command-line-start-error-ah00436-no-installed-service-named-apac try to start it from the command prompt, I am getting the following error: C:\>httpd -k start [Fri Jun 14 13:21:59.055815 2013] [mpm_winnt:error] [pid 6344:tid 144] (OS 2)The system cannot find the file specified. : AH00436: No installed service named "Apache2.4". I tried to change the Listen port in httpd.conf. It does not change anything. Any clues ? Thanks. apache apache2 xampp share|improve this question asked Jun 14 '13 at 20:27 vlr 2912624 add a comment| 6 Answers 6 active oldest votes up vote 7 down vote I had absolutely the same problem with the "AH00436: No installed service named “Apache2.4”" after I downloaded Apache 2.4 for Windows and tried to start it the first time. The solution was very very simple. You get the error message when you manually try to start the webserver by "httpd -k start", but no service was defined yet. just do a "httpd -k install" and the windows service is added to the registry. after that, the "httpd -k start" works without error message. share|improve this answer answered Mar 9

Description Oyvind Johansen 2004-12-23 09:00:58 UTC When trying to start Apache I get this message in my log: " [Thu Dec 23 07:47:39 2004] [crit] (OS 2)The system cannot find the file specified. : Parent: Unable to connect child stdout to NUL.\n [Thu Dec 23 07:47:39 2004] [crit] (OS 2)The system cannot find the operating system error file specified. : master_main: create child process failed. Exiting. " It would help a lot to get to know: * What module is reporting this error * What file could not be found * What is the use of the file This could be achieved by better documentation and logging in code. It might not be considered as a bug, but I feel it belongs in Bugzilla because the logfile fails to explain what really happened. The loglevel was set to debug and the "error" has been reported on three different installation with various configurations. One of them trying to host Bugzilla. Comment 1 André Malo 2004-12-24 00:11:44 UTC The module reporting is the core ("parent"). The error message is the system message of OS errorcode 2. Actually I find that the log message is quite descriptive. Comment 2 Tim Bapp 2005-05-12 01:23:37 UTC I am also getting this version of this error: [Wed May 11 17:41:45 2005] [error] (OS 2)The system cannot find the file specified. : No installed service named "Apache2". I am not getting anything written into the error log, therefore I can not analyse the bug, nor am I getting a line number error to detect where the bug is in the httpd.conf config file.

Solved Can't boot up computer, receive error OS/2 !!SYS01475 and OS/2 !!SYS02027 using windows XP Posted on 2004-10-02 Windows XP 1 Verified Solution 8 Comments 1,750 Views Last Modified: 2008-01-09 I had to go out and fix an extremely slow system (Sony PCV-RX560) and their internet connection - couldn't access net. I did a thorough cleaning of the system using ad-aware, BHO hijacker software and Norton Anti-virus - found 1 virus labeled bloodhound.w32.ep. After I rebooted I hear the POST, two error messages are displayed "OS/2 !!SYS01475" and "OS/2 !!SYS02027 but I can't get past that point. The system stops at this point and fails to load the O/S. I reset the computer and again, I can't get past this point. I am able to get past this point and boot up when I have the Norton CD in the cd drive, I can boot up to windows. Two options appear "boot from hard disk" or "boot from CD". I select "boot from disc" and the O/S loads up fine. I got so frustrated with the computer I reformatted the drive and re-installed windows xp using the recovery discs provided by Sony. Didn't work, still get the error message above and won't boot unless I have the norton CD in the drive. 2. Our second solution ,if it had to do with the boot record, was to upgrade to a bigger drive.
