Open up Terminal. You can access it by typing "Terminal" into Spotlight. Enter the command(s) in the steps below into your command line prompt (triple click the line, copy it, and paste it into your prompt). Replace filename.zip with the actual name of the zip file. If the name of the file contains spaces, you need to enter it differently using the escape \ character. For example, if the file is named compressed crap.zip, you'd type compressed\ crap.zip in the command line. Step 1: Repair disk permission

(20,497,570,063 bytes) I am trying to uncompress it but both Archive Utility and Terminal are failing to do so. Archive Utility is giving error 2 (no http://superuser.com/questions/930731/zip-corrupted-on-mac such file or directory). When I execute the following command: unzip myfile.zip it just stops at some point, while it says that there are some extra bytes when it starts. When I do zipinfo on this file, it says the same: Archive: /Users/USERNAME/Desktop/pictures.zip 20497570063 8664 warning [/Users/USERNAME/Desktop/pictures]: 17179869184 extra bytes at beginning or within zipfile (attempting to process anyway) When it's done unzipping the folder is only about 8GB or so big. Does anyone of you happen to know how I can fix this or get all the pictures out of this zip file? osx compression zip share|improve this question asked Jun 21 '15 at 20:16 JeroenJK 12315 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted Perhaps you could try to follow the steps in this article: How to Repair Damaged Zip Files With Terminal and see if that helps you. Essentially what the article says is that you can try with this command: zip -F myBrokenArchive.zip --out hopefullyRepairedArchive.zip and if that doesn't work, make zip try even harder with zip -FF myBrokenArchive.zip --out hopefullyRepairedArchive.zip share|improve this an

Support June 14, 2016 15:04 THIS LEGACY VERSION (ZIP) OF THE COURSE PLAYER IS OUTDATED AND NO LONGER RECOMMENDED. SEE OUR NEW TRUEFIRE COURSE PLAYER DESKTOP APP (WINDOWS/MAC) -- On Macs, you should simply be able to double click on the zipped folder to unzip. If the files almost completely unzip then a small window pops up:"Unable to unarchive into Desktop" (Error 1 - Operation not permitted.) or "Decompression Failed"then follow the steps below for alternative unzipping processes. First, double check to make sure the file has fully downloaded. If the file size has fully downloaded then there are two options to overcome this error message. 1- Unzip in Terminal One solution is to use Terminal, a built-in program on the Mac. 1) Open Terminal. You can use the Mac search at the top right and start typing Terminal. It will appear, click on it to open the program.2) Type “unzip” and a space, then drag/drop the zip file into the Terminal window. 3) Press Enter and the zip file will be unzipped, storing all files on your computer.Your unzipped files will go to your user account folder which you can easily access using Finder. 2- Use Zipeg to Unzip Another option would be to use a different program to unzip the course. Some Mac users, find better luck using Zipeg: http://www.zipeg.com to unzip the course. -- Use the TrueFire Course Player: Desktop app (Recommended!) All that being said, we have a new installed player which we recommend all customers use in place of the legacy standalone zip folders. The new TrueFire Course Player: Desktop app is a one-time installed program which allows you to access your entire course library of lessons from one centralized location. You can download on-demand or in bulk for full offline access. You do not need to worry about downloading separate standalone course folders with separate video players. You can learn more about the new TrueFire Course player and download at: www.truefire.com/apps Was this article helpful? 2 out of 3 found this helpful Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google+ Have more questions?
