ink (printout) I knew that wasn't the problem, but replaced it anyway. Same issue, so I took the printhead to a computer place which happened to have two HP Printer reps there!! I showed the printhead to the rep and he thought it looked pretty clean (even though it's 3 years old). He thought it was a bad software driver and gave me a disk. Of course that wasn't it either as I uninstalled then reinstalled the driver. Later, on this site, I read about the error codes etc. My error code is 112, which says black printhead. Before I run out and buy a new printhead, does that sound like the REAL problem? I've checked the pump 'switch' below the cartridge and it works fine. Anything else I need to try first? Thanks for your help.Jim Respond to this 0 A http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-bpd05583 Non Expert OpinionI don't live in 'HP 2000 country' so I rarely work on them. The head may have an expiration date coded into the onboard chip. I believe the head also keeps track of how much it has been used. As an experiment, set your system clock back a couple of years. I have seen this fix a 'bad' cartridge but can you live with a bogus date? by Bert on Dec 28, 2003 at 7:58pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Bert, Really?! OK, I set the clock back two years, reset http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/15148 the printer and same error message. I appreciate your input, but it looks like something else is amiss. Thanks and regards,Jim by unknown on Dec 29, 2003 at 5:54am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 On the 10 or so 2000c I have worked on, when the error message said to replace a printhead and I did, it worked. Even though the head looked clean, the fact that it is over 3 years old would lead me to think the error message is correct. by dmzcompute on Dec 29, 2003 at 3:01pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 dmz--Thanks, that's at least encouraging. I'll pick up one this weekend and report back. by unknown on Dec 29, 2003 at 3:58pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Well, the printhead WAS the issue! have met such problem days before and before that my HP 2000c Printer worked well. In this article I will tell you how to solve the HP 2000c Printer printer http://printersquestions.com/hp-2000c-printer-printer-not-activated-error-code-30.html not activated error code 30 problem. Due to my experience it is the problem of printer spooler. You should clean the printer spooler. I used 64 bit Win 7 operating system. Step 1: I clicked Start and then Control Panel, click on “View By: Large icons” and then "Administrative Tools". Step 2: Double Click "Services" then you will see a list of services among which scroll error codes down and find the one called "Print Spooler", then right click it and select Restart Step 3: double click Print Spooler and select Automatic and then wait for a while and you can try to print. If the problem still exists with your HP 2000c Printer, then you should try all the following steps to uninstall program and reinstall the driver. Step 1: unplug your printer error codes for from your computer, Step 2: go to Start, Control Panel, Uninstall a Program to remove HP 2000c Printer as well as any related applications. You can remove it by downloading "windows install cleanup" tool and install it for the removing tool. If you can not find the Uninstall a Program than you should just remove it. Restart your computer and down load the newest driver form the manufacture’s website and install it. Step 3: after the installation work is finished, you should restart your computer, turn on your computer and printer, and try to print through HP 2000c Printer. All above mentioned steps are procedures that I have used to solve the problem of printer not activated error code 30. There are also other things that can cause this problem, such as anti virus software. If you have installed anti virus software and encountered such problem, you should disable script blocking. If you do not install any anti virus software, you should try to check document convert setting of your HP 2000c Printer. This problem may also occur when you install some software which will create Quicken PDF Printer that will interfere with your default printer. I
