the display shows 'fEE', which is supposed to be "Lens aperture ring is not set to minimum aperture" (which, it is). The DX 35mm lens works fine.I also have a d90 body- and the 50mm lens works nikon d80 error message fine on that, as-is. I don't have any other "D" lenses laying around.Any other ideas? How does this setting get communicated to the camera for a D lens? is it electronic, or mechanical? Nothing LOOKS wrong in the camera lens mount area. The firmware has been updated to 1.01, and that didn't help.Thanks,-jamie Reply to thread Reply with quote Complain Rod Phifer • Forum Member • Posts: 97 Re: fEE Error on nikon d7000, 1h998-164 aperture ring is already locked In reply to jamiesmithnc • Feb 19, 2011 Have you tried cleaning the metal contacts on the lenses with a cloth? Perhaps it is not quite set properly where it is.Also . . . wipe all metal contacts with a soft cloth . . . the new camera will be shipped with a protective coating on the metal contacts and their may be some film residue there preventing proper contact.Regards, Van Griff Van Griff's gear list:Van Griff's gear list Nikon D700 Nikon D7000 Nikon AF-S Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8D ED-IF Nikon AF Nikkor 105mm f/2D DC Nikon AF Nikkor 135mm f/2D DC +28 more Reply Reply with quote Complain jamiesmithnc OP • New Member • Posts: 5

I'm getting this error, "FEE" when I try shooting with Rokinon AE 14mm wide angle lens on the Nikon d7000 camera body. The interesting thing is - when I put the aperture at F22 the error goes away. However when it change it to a wider aperture I get the error again. I did some googling a some users mentioned it could be related to the connection point between the lens and camera body failing. But this can't be the case because my other lens work just fine on the camera body. So I'm thinking it could be one of two things. Either the lens is broken or I'm getting a setting wrong on my camera. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! If you run into this problem here is what worked for me. Go to the Custom Settings Menu> f Controls > f6 Customize command dials> Aperture setting> and the choose Aperture Ring. Note: make sure your in one of the following modes "M" "A" "S" or "P" otherwise the settings won't work.
