then on our other two printers and the only thing I have found that corrects the problem is unplugging the power and plugging them back in. I have tried to duplicate the error with no success, and it is happening from multiple applications that have not changed. Does anyone have any ideas of what could be causing this error, and how I might fix it once and for all? Respond to this 0 Try working from the manual feeder and see if the error comes up. My guess is the tray sizing switches located in the tray cavity. If they are failing or not making good contact, the size the printer thinks is in the tray will be incorrect or change on its own to the wrong size. by dmzcompute on Dec 6, 2006 at 4:31pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I just replaced a tray base today that had a defective switch. It was the middle one which made the printer think it had Exec. size paper. Easiest way to tell is print out the config page (Information Menu) and see what the printer thinks it has installed. by moe on Dec 6, 2006 at 4:35pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I have one that does this by unknown on Oct 14, 2011 at 6:46am Add comment Please sign in to comment Please sign in to comment HP LaserJet 4100 Buy discount ink Buy this printer More HP questions © Copyright 2011-2016, FixYourOwnPrinter.com, Inc. Solved HP Laserjet 4515tn - Slow to start printing Posted on 2009-09-16 Peripherals Printers and Scanners 1 Verified Solution 35 Comments 7,041 error codes Views Last Modified: 2012-05-07 We have a network printer (HP Laserjet 4515tn) that has an occational problem of not wanting to print immediately. I have changed the energy saving mode to not sleep for 4 hours and set the wake up to 30 minutes before the office opens. I have looked in the event logs on the printer and only see Event 41.03.00 General Misprint Error hp printer 41.03.00 (most common error) Event 13.01.00 Paper Feed 1, Paper late jam (a few times) Event 13.02.00 Paper Feed 1, Paper Stopped jam (a couple of times) The customer is complaining that, a couple of time a day, they will send a print job, the printer starts turning (from the sound they can tell it is processing the job), and then it continues to turn for about 60 seconds before the first sheet of paper comes out. The rest of the time, they send a job, the printer starts turning and paper starts coming out immediately (Click to first shee about 2 seconds). My initial impression, the forst time I saw/heard this happen was that it was having a difficulty picking up any paper. The rollers only have 51,000 pages on them, and the printer has not lost any jobs, but is just slow sometimes. The printer is less than a year old. Any suggestions as to the possible cause, and a solution? It seems to be rampant throughout their Multifunction printers. My Fix, combining several others: 1. Go to Printers and Faxes on your Start Menu. In the Printers window, select Server Properties from the File menu. Use the Forms tab of the Print Server Properties dialog box to view printer forms. You may also see lots of forms that you wish your printer could see, but don't worry, it'll see the one you create now. And be sure when you create your form that you use the narrower dimension for the width and the longer dimension for the height. Usually for envelopes you will print in landscape mode. 2. Select the Create A New Form check box. 3. Enter a new name for the Form in the Form Description For field. 4. Use the fields in the Measurements area to set the paper size and margins. *Use the narrower dimension for the width and the longer dimension for the height*. 5. Choose the Save Form button to save the form. The Save Form button only gets pick-able when you type in a different name than what's there already. Now go to your document program, such as Word. Make sure the window for the document you want to print is the active window. Select File/Page Setup..., Paper Size Tab, and there select the form you just created from the dropdown listStill in your document program, select File/Print... then Pro
