Parity Error Message
everything is going good except I have a error code 301. I know that it refers to the keyboard and I have a new one on the way but there is a 24 a few spaces in front of the 301, what is that? I was getting 161, 163, 192, and the 301. I replaced the cmos battery and now all I get ibm checkpoint codes is the 301. Do you think replacing the keyboard will fix it? Thanks! _________________IBM Thinkpad 600E 2645-4BU 40 GB HD 544 MB RAM Win XP Pro. dvd-rom I LOVE MY THINKPAD!!! Could that cause the error? _________________IBM Thinkpad 600E 2645-4BU40 GB HD544 MB RAMWin XP

The problem was, these diagnostic codes were never really documented all that well. The codes that I am presenting here are 162 configuration change has occurred ibm server from documents I have read through, found on the web, found in old books, documents and technical papers. As a computer technician, I rely on documentation to guide me through these types of messages. Therefore, I http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=44602 hope to provide this to all those other technicians out there who get the opportunity to work on one of these. And, yes, people still use them and some refuse to give them up. The method for reading these codes is pretty straight forward. The first part of the error code indicates the device that is causing the trouble. The second part gives the meaning of the error. You can think of the http://www.bioscentral.com/misc/ibmdiag.htm first part as the test code and the second part as the fault code. A fault code of 00 indicates that no problem was found. Thus 200 means the system memory was tested. The 00 means that no fault was found. 201 would mean a memory error. 202 would mean memory address error; lines 00-15. This page is rather extensive and will be updated on a regular basis. Like all the other codes out there. If you know of any error codes that I am displaying incorrectly or that aren't here. Let me know and I'll get it corrected as soon as I can. Thanks to Mike Rose for erors 129 and 229! IBM Thinkpad Win 95 (yes I know it's ancient.) What is error 301 and how do we fix it ??? Follow 4 answers 4 Report Abuse Are you sure that you want to delete this answer? Yes No Sorry, something has gone ibm thinkpad 600e wrong. Trending Now Answers Relevance Rating Newest Oldest Best Answer: It's definitely a problem with your keyboard if your keyboard has a key that is stuck "down", then the power-on self-test (POST) will indicate the "301" error code, along with a code which tells you exactly which key is causing the problem. For example, in the picture to the left there is a "15" in front of the 301 error code. This means that one of the keys is stuck down, now if none of the keys is stuck down then a new keyboard should eliminate the 301 boot errors. Source(s): computer Technician.
