View Profile View Forum Posts Visit Homepage Appliance Tech Join Date Oct 2004 Location Canada Posts 556 Depending on the exact range http://www.applianceblog.com/mainforums/threads/219-Kenmore-Range-error-code-F-1 model number, F1 can indicate a problem in the electronic control, its keypad (which may only be available with the control) or sometimes even the oven sensor. The first thing you can try is disconnecting the appliance from power for several minutes to see if that clears the problem. If not, some investigating will likely be necessary. JFYI BTW. You can find tips for locating the model and serial number tag on your appliances in the 'Repair Parts' section of my site linked below. Dan O. It did it for two days before and then stopped. But if it does do it again, disconnecting it will be my first step. thanks again April 20th, 2006,05:08 PM #6 jrv314 View Profile View Forum Posts Member Join Date Apr 2006 Location In a house
published, help is on its way! I have a f30 error code on kenmore oven(electric). Report This by Manage My Life February 25th, 2011 Kenmore oven, model no.770.96692401. At first we had a run away tempeture and the f10 error http://www.shopyourway.com/questions/1109319 code appeared and the oven had to be shut down at the breaker. We tried again http://www.shopyourway.com/questions/1073044 and same result. I took off panel and found that the simmer sellect board had burn marks. I replaced this and tested the oven probe aswell and that measured out to the right ohm reading. After this was done I we turned the oven on and the f30 code appeared. We had a repair man come and take a look and he said the error codes control board was bad so I replaced it and the f30 code came up again. Please help-Joe. Share it! I located a previous expert post that has an attachment with the error codes and recommended checks. kenmore oven error It may help while you wait for the expert to review this situation for a better answer. I attached the link below. Hope this helps! by Manage My Life February 25th, 2011 Answered in 8 minutes Comment Give your feedback by voting on answers 0 votes The F30 indicates that the electronic oven control board detects an open oven temperature sensor probe. The F10 is similar. It indicates a runaway temperature. The F10 can be caused by high resistance in the oven temperature sensor probe circuit. The electronic oven control board senses oven temperature by measuring the resistance through the oven temperature sensor probe. It is likely that you can diagnose and repair this failure yourself since you indicate that you have an electronics background. I recommend unplugging the range and shutting off the gas supply to the range. Remove the back panel to access the oven temperature sensor probe that protrudes through the back wall of the oven. Unplug the wire harness connection on the sensor. Using a volt/ohm meter, measure the resistance through the leads on the oven temperature sensor probe. The normal resistance of this component at room temperature is around 1100 ohms. Since you are getting the F30 error code, you will likely measure infinite resistance (open). If this is the case, then you will need to replace the oven temperature sensor. You can order this part from the Sears PartsDirect website. I did
published, help is on its way! What does the error code F11 Mean on my Kenmore gas oven? Report This by Manage My Life March 27th, 2010 kenmore 24 inch gas oven 30179 Share it! Add your answer Sign in to answer a question 3 Answers from these members: The "F11" fault code indicates a Shorted Keypad. Disconnect power to the range, For 10-20 minutes and reapply power. If "F11" returns upon power-up, replace the Electronic Oven Control (EOC). If you do not feel comfortable replacing the EOC, I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your range. by Manage My Life March 29th, 2010 Comment Give your feedback by voting on answers 0 votes How expensive is it to repair? Would it be best to just replace the stove? by Manage My Life March 29th, 2012 Comment 0 votes On the above oven, the console costs about $200. If you can replace that component yourself, then it would probably be worth it to repair the oven instead of replacing it. Be sure that you shut off the house circuit breakers to completely disconnect electrical power before accessing and replacing internal components. If you need more help with accessing and replacing the key panel, reply with additional details and the full model number of your oven or range. There is a chance that the control board may also need to be replaced. That component costs around $150. I you have a service technician complete the repair, then the labor will probably cost around $150. This pricing information may help you decide whether to replair the oven or replace it.
