not find a lot of information about the IMAQ or Vision error codes. Where can I find more detailed information about my IMAQ or Vision errors? Solution: You can find basic information on any LabVIEW error by going to Help»Explain Error... Entering an error code will return the message that goes with this error. For NI-IMAQ, NI-IMAQdx, NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394, and Vision you can also find information about an error in the header file (or include file). You can also find a description of the error in the help documentation for NI-IMAQ, NI-IMAQdx, NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394, or Vision. There are also KnowledgeBase articles on the NI website that you can find by searching for your error code at ni.com. Below is a list of where you can find further information about the error codes, examples of the different errors you might receive, and a range of the different error types:NI-IMAQ Errors niimaq.h Found in the following directory: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-IMAQ\Include NI-IMAQ Function Reference Help Found in the following directory: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-IMAQ\Docs Example: (-1074397137) IMG_ERR_NEPK: No pixel clock detected from camera Range: [-1074396886 through -1074397183] or [0xBFF6012A through 0xBFF60001] NI-IMAQdx Errors niimaqdx.h Found in the following directory: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-IMAQdx\Include NI-IMAQdx Function Reference Help Found in the following directory: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-IMAQdx\Docs Example: (-1074360286) IMAQdxErrorFormat7Parameters: For format 7: The combination of speed, image position, image size, and color coding is incorrect. a USB, FireWire, or GigE Vision Camera? Primary Software: Image Acquisition (IMAQ)>>IMAQ - DX Cards Primary Software Version: 14.0 Primary Software Fixed Version: N/A Secondary Software: Driver Software>>NI-IMAQ Hardware: Compact FieldPoint>>Analog I/O Modules>>cFP-AI-110 Problem: I am trying to acquire images from a camera using the IMAQdx driver, but when I do I receive a message Error 1074360311: Camera Not Found. I have been able to acquire images using 3rd party software, so I know that the cameras are functional. In some cases, I can even acquire images in MAX but not LabVIEW or CVI. http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/C3C20E427DE91928862570DE00542B7D What is causing this error? Solution: This error occurs when IMAQdx searches for a camera resource with the name that you specified in the IMAQdx Session In but doesn't find it among the available camera files. This can happen if the Session In input to the IMAQdx Open Camera VI is left blank or is not selected. Make sure to specify the camera that you would http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/985B2D2F7A3BBD9286257CEF004EC752 like to use to acquire images. This sometimes happens when a LabVIEW project is built into an executable and the Session In input is hard-coded into the block diagram with a constant. When the executable is deployed to the target computer, the camera name is likely to be different on the target than it was on the development PC. This is even true when using the same camera that was used on the development PC because IMAQdx will automatically assign a camera name to any new camera that it discovers.By default, IMAQdx cameras are given names starting with cam0 and proceeding to cam1, cam2, etc. Check the NI-IMAQdx devices in MAX to make sure that the device that you are using has exactly the same name as the resource that you specify in your LabVIEW or CVI code. You can address this problem by designing the executable to allow the user to specify the camera from the front panel. Also, you can change the name of the camera in MAX. Error-1074360311 can also happen to GigE Vision cameras because of problems with network connectivity. Troubleshoot the GigE camera using the same methods that you woul
Version: 7.1 Primary Software Fixed Version: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/AFA13DCC721A7743482570C8007F6190 N/A Secondary Software: N/A Problem: When I try to run my LabVIEW code which performs image acquisition, I get the following error:Error -1074397103 NI-IMAQ: This buffer is currently protected. Release it to allow new data to be written. Why am I getting error codes this error? Solution: This problem arises when a call to IMAQ Extract Buffer is made and the extracted buffer is not released. IMAQ Extract Buffer allows for the examination of the buffer during acquisition. The buffer is extracted from the acquisition and ni imaq error is protected from being overwritten until IMAQ Extract Buffer is called again. To free the buffer simply make another call to IMAQ Extract Buffer with an argument of -1 wired to the Buffer to Extract input.
