DX SLR (D500, D300, D200, D100) TalkChange forum The dreaded CF "CHA" "OH NO" on my D200 Started May 29, 2006 | Discussions thread Shop cameras & lenses ▾ ForumParentFirstPreviousNextFlat view Opticalstar • Regular Member • Posts: 107 The dreaded CF "CHA" "OH NO" on my D200 May https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/18624462 29, 2006 My D200 is displaying this "CHA" error and now a Can't take pictures with mycamera, I was using a scandisk extreme CF III 4.0 GB card at the time the problem happened.The card was "FULL" so I swaped it for my Kingston 512 MB card which I had as a spare, on inserting the Kingston card I recieved the "CHA" error, I got a surprise when this happened error codes as I had been using the smaller card before I bought the 4.0 GB Extreme card.So, I decided to put the Extreme 4.0 GB CF card back into the D200 and delete some existing photos to make space for the new shot I wanted to take.I got an even bigger surprise when it to gave me the "CHA" on the D200,so now I have two CF cards that do not operate nikon d200 off with my D200, both of which used to work with my D200.I went home and placed my CF card into my Dell A50x PDA and I got all of the photos I had takenl off the 4.0 CF CF card on to the the hard drive of my PC, no problems there thank goodness.I have tried reformating the CF card using the D200, but this does not change a thing, I have tried doing this several times, but no joy.What next, well I have ordered a card reader/writer form a source on eBay, which will arrive soon and I will atempt to format the CF cards on my PC using the windows FAT32 formating tool, the Dell PDA will not allow me to do a fromat on the CF card from the PC while the card is in the PDA, pity.I understand the problem could quite easily be with the D200 and not the cards, but, first I will format the CF cards using the card reader/writer.Then what what if this still does not work, well I will take the battery out of the D200, switch it "ON" with the battery out and leave the internal battery to discharge until I lose all the camera settings.
