first err message, I'm wondering if it an interclock problem?Ps notice after the firmware update(1.01), never happened beforealso ran update from a Mac g5 running tigerI bought a second hand D2x at Foto Konijnenberg last Thursday, on purpose form a dealer instead of from eBay or so, I have 6 months warrenty......Seems I'm going to need it, my nikon d7100 err D2X (firmware 1.0.0) has exactly the same issue as described here. When I turn it on after some time my Shutter locks (mirror is down though). Press again and you here a somewhat disturbing noise and everything is fine for the rest of the shoot. When it happens nothing helps: lens, card, battery, al sorts of fideling, the only solution seems releasing again.I am an IT-man myself and I'm very happy that I can reproduce the problem, it's no long longer completly random, also I have a workaround, just pressing agian, but I would like to know the gravity of the issue? Will it get worse? Is my shutter slowly falling apapart? Or is it just software and do I need to upgrade to 1.0.1? From the reading above I understand that firmware 1.0.1 does not help solving the problem.Seems the only thing I can do is go back to Foto Konijnenberg and let them help me solve my problem together with Nikon maybe, luckely I'm under warrenty. I've already reproted the problem.

Nikon didn't fix it when I sent it in under warranty. There are lots of affected users, but meter/AF board failures get all of the attention. Mine does this also, but not every power up. It records the shot and displays the review on the LCD, but the VF and top LCD will flash "err". Press the shutter button again and you can hear something like a shutter release, with no shot recorded, err message is gone and it is business as usual. I have experimented a little with mine. When the err message is displayed, I have removed the lens and watched inside the mirror box when pressing the shutter 2nd time, to rid the err message. Odd thing... Nothing, mirror or shutter seems to move at this point even though there is a shutter like sound generated. I also sometimes get a grossly over exposed 1st shot, it is very seldom and is not accompanied by the err message. A second shot will be perfectly exposed even though both shots will have identical exif data. I picked this body up

Hi Everybody-First, I hope many folks can see this nikon d2h error and help me out. So here's my problem. I have a D200 with a grip and I was out shooting today as my girls were horseback riding and as I was shooting (about 140 photos in) my camera starts giving me an "ERR" message on the top lcd screen, some of the time it would not fire, when it does, the mirror stays up and then I press the shutter and sometimes it would come back down and sometimes not, and I would have to turn off the camera and turn it back on and press the shutter and then the mirror comes back down, I even changed lenses, but I could not get past that message. I have the most recent firmware also, 2.1 on both A and B. Also, only about 30,000 clicks on body, that I can tell cause I bought it used in 2010 and was told it had Can anybody tell me what is happening and if there is anything I can do myself to get past this problem???? PLEASE let me know if you need further information to better diagnose this, I'll be happy to provide it. Thanks so much for your time on this and thank you in advance for any help

Well, either way, I recently needed to find more info on these codes myself and decided to put all the info I found in one place. So here is a quick guide to what those codes generally mean, along with a couple of simple solutions to hopefully get you back up and running. f EE If you only use G type lenses you'll never see this error message as it indicates the aperture ring is not set to the minimum aperture. The fix is easy, just set the aperture ring back to minimum and lock it in place. There is usually an aperture ring lock to stop you accidentally twisting it, it's a small orange notch on a switch, and the lenses smallest aperture will be marked in orange as well to help remind you. FEE code means the aperture lock is not set f- - This means the lens and camera are not communicating with each other. Usual causes are that either the lens is an older model without electronic contacts (i.e. is not a CPU lens) or it is not fully connected. If it is a CPU lens then remove the lens and re-attach, making sure you fully twist the lens until you hear it click in place. Triangle with F0 (or another number, i.e. F6) Also indicates the lens and body are unable to communicate and the camera thinks there is no lens attached. On a non CPU lens it can mean the maximum aperture has not been dialled in correctly. The number
