D1X or D1H ? I have had this on both, recently. Nikon tech support wasn't much help other than to direct me to send both bodies in to NPS. What is this error message? I finally solved it by resetting the cameras to the factory default ( turn the camera on, and hold down the two dark green buttons under the screen). I don't know if that will help with the Cd error, though it could be worth a try before sending the camera out. If you use the same memory cards in other cameras, you might also check to make sure they are formatted to FAT, and not FAT32, which the D1 series cameras have trouble with. Good luck. MessageUsername jkittmerOfflineUpload & Sell: Off p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Nikon D3 Problem? Hi there, I was taking nikon d7000 error codes some pictures today with my D3 and got a cd error. I have read some other nikon d7200 error codes posts about this just being as simple as formatting the card or removing the battery and some claim it can be caused by the nikon d50 error codes lens?... The funny thing was I deleted one random image and the count went back up to 280 images. I was using a sandisk ultra II 8gb in slot 1 and was shooting raw. The card is quite new and I http://www.sportsshooter.com/message_display.html?tid=21679 formatted the card in camera before using it. Any ideas? I find this somewhat unsettling and now feel a more confident towards my D700 and I don't want to feel this way given the money I just paid!!... Should I consider returning the camera it is only 1 week old or just consider it a fluke or maybe something wrong with the card?.. Seems likely to be a bad card. Have you tried other cards in the camera? Jan 29, 2009 at 01:52 AM jkittmerOfflineUpload & Sell: Off p.1 #3 · p.1 #3 · Nikon D3 Problem? Thanks for responding no it was not a CH error (I've been there with my D70 already lol) cd error: due to "memory insufficient to record further photos at current settings or camera has run out of file or folder numbers" Jan 29, 2009 at 01:54 AM trenchmonkeyOfflineUpload & Sell: On p.1 #4 · p.1 #4 · Nikon D3 Problem? You gotta remember how a memory card works. When "formatting" a card, it kind of archives the stuff. Only when you fill that location, it is really "erased," otherwise the info will still be on the card. As for my experience, I had a major car malfunction in which ALL of my pictures were gone. The card then exhibited real problems where it wouldn't be able to be reformatted in cam

However, before you become too frustrated, take a deep breath. The advantage of an error message is that your camera is giving you clues as to the problem, which is better than no error message -- and no clues -- at all.The eight tips listed here should help you troubleshoot your Nikon DSLR camera error messages. ERR error message. If you see "ERR" on your LCD or electronic viewfinder, you likely have experienced one of three problems. First, the shutter button may not have depressed properly. Second, the camera could not capture the image using your manual exposure settings; try changing the settings or using automatic settings. Third, the Nikon camera may have experienced a start-up error. Remove the battery and memory card for at least 15 minutes and try turning on the camera again.F-- error message. Most of the time, this error message is limited to Nikon DSLR cameras, because it's related to a lens error. Specifically, the F-- error message indicates the lens and camera are not communicating. Check the lens to ensure it's locked into place. If you cannot make this particular lens work, try a different lens to see whether the F-- error message continues. You'll then know whether the problem is with the original lens or the camera. FEE error message. The FEE error message on a Nikon DSLR camera indicates that the camera cannot shoot the photo at the aperture you've selected. Turn the manual aperture ring to the highest number, which should fix the error message. You may need to allow the camera to automatically choose the aperture to shoot the photo at the proper exposure. "Information" icon error message. If y
