camera might not damaged and there might be no need to return it back to Nikon, as they suggest in most camera manuals.The reason why this error comes up, is because your camera is not properly communicating with your lens due to some dirt and grease both on camera and lens contacts. The solution is pretty simple - all you nikon error message have to do is dismount your lens and clean the lens contacts, then clean camera contacts and mount the lens back on the camera and see what happens. Sounds too complicated? Are you afraid to damage your camera and/or lens? Then keep reading, because I will show you exactly what needs to be done.So here is the step-by-step process:Dismount camera lens - before you remove the lens, make sure that you are doing this in a clean environment indoors. I prefer to do it at night (when kids are sleeping) in the bathroom :) If you have not dismounted a lens from your camera yet, now is the time to learn. Turn off your camera. Press the lens release button located to the left of the lens when the camera is viewed from the top, then rotate the lens clock-wise to dismount the lens as shown here. Right after the lens is dismounted, put the black plastic camera cap back on the camera lens mount to prevent dust from getting into the camera.Clean lens contacts - there are man

Collection Intro Intro: How to fix 'Press Shutter Release Button Again' error on a Nikon DSLR.If you own a Nikon DSLR and suddently an error of 'Press Shutter Release Again' pops up and it wont take any pictures although you press the Shutter ... 1 Step 1: Tools & Stuffs You needYou will need: Small Watch Maker's Phillips Screw Driver Toothpick, Can of Spray Grease (or any General Purpose Light duty Grease) Tissue Paper A Clean Dust free Environment 2 Step 2: First, remove its Battery.Turn the DSLR over,unlatch the battery cover & remove its battery from the Camera. You can recharge it if its is low for testing later. 3 Step 3: Remove the bottom base Cover PlateRemove the bottom Cover plate held by 9 screws (5 long& 4 short ) .Start by unsrewing the long screw inside the battery compartment and work clockwise to ... 4 Step 4: Removed all screw holding the Base Cover 5 Step 5: Proceed removing all screws in a sysmetic clockwise orderThere are 2 long screws here holding the cover around the lens mount. 6 Step 6: Remove all Screws and aside it on a piece of Tissue PaperRemove all Screws(total 9) and the bottom cover and place them on either a Clean Tissue Paper.This is a very straight forward task using only a Watch Makers ... 7 Step 7: View of the D40 DSLR base with Cover removed.This is the base of the D40 with cover removed exposing the Shutter Motor Mechanism. 8 Step 8: The Gear operating the ShutterThis is the Gear operated by a motor that is responsible for operating the Shutter Mechanism. 9 Step 9: Lightly move the Gear & inspect for ContaminationUse a clean Tooth pick to lightly move the gear Upwards until a friction is felt. Stop here& move Downwards while inspecting for contamination & smoothness. 10 Step 10: a closer view of the Gear seen through a Magnifying GlassUse a Magnifying Glass if you cannot see the Comtamination clearly. Remove any visible contamination trapped between teeth of Gear . It should give a smooth feeling when ... 11 Step 11: Repeat about 5 cycles.I lightly move the gear forward & backwards about 5 cycles, cleaning & removing any visiblre foreign material likely trapped in between gearsbefore applying new Grease. 12 Step 12: Apply new Grease between GearsUpon removing foreign material, apply only enough Greas to lubricate the gears tripping the Shutter.
