Or is it happening right now and your search has brought you to this article? Well, either way, I recently needed to find more info on these codes myself and decided to put all the info I found in one place. So here is a quick guide to what those codes generally mean, along with a couple of simple solutions to hopefully get you back up and running. f EE If you only use G type lenses you'll never see this error message as it indicates the aperture ring is not set to the minimum aperture. The fix is easy, just set the aperture ring back to minimum and lock it in place. There is usually an aperture ring lock to stop you accidentally twisting it, it's a small orange notch on a switch, and the lenses smallest aperture will be marked in orange as well to help remind you. FEE code means the aperture lock is not set f- - This means the lens and camera a

It should not affect your shooting until and unless you take 14 shots in a nikon d50 r14 burst. When the mirror is down such that you can see the image in the viewfinder it is obscuring the sensor [ the bit that takes the picture ] and when you take a shot the mirror lifts and the picture is recorded. Its this reason that DSLR's dont use the LCD to shoot, however there are a few now available that do let you do this, such as olympus, new panasonic one and higher end Nikon and Canon cameras. Hope this explains it without getting too detailed! The first month it worked perfectly. Then suddenly the shutter starts to lock and the camera is dead. I have then to turn of the camera and take out the battery. Then it fires one shot and the next shot I am taking the thing lock's up again. I contacted the AD and they did send in to Nikon for service. Got it back today and on the repair slip it say's that the have adjusted the shutter an cleaned the camera. So when I did come back home I tried the thing and exactly the same problem appears again. Puh getting tired now. Any out there have any clue what might be the problem. I am as you understand am a newbie to this D50 and maybe there something that I do to cause this problem. Sponsored Links May 29, 2006, 3:00 PM #2 JimC Administrator Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Savannah, GA (USA) Posts: 22,367 Have you got more than one lens? If so, I'd see if the problem is present with a different lens. It could be a connection problem. Try cleaning your lens contacts (on the camera mount and on the lens) to make sure it's not just a bit of oxidation on the contacts causing a bad connection. A t-shirt with a touch of alcohol would probably do it. I'd do the same thing with the battery contacts (and try a different battery if you have one, in case the battery has a problem). Have you got another memory card? If so, I'd try a different one to make sure it's not shorting out the camera somewhere. I'd make sure to format it via the camera menus for format, too. Per K May 29, 2006, 6:41 PM #4 Lexiticus Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2005 Posts: 143 theres an option in the camera that will turn off the shutter lock when a memory card isn't inserted. Turn that off (SD card Lock I think its called) And then take out your memory card and take a few pictures. If it still locks up on you it CAN'T be the memory card. Then its most likely internal or a lens or battery problem Go to a camera store and try it with a different battery. If that doesn't fix it Send it back again. May 29, 2006, 7:35 PM #5 rey Seni
