Does anybody have information about this problem? Thanks, Alvaro. What lens is being used? If the lens has a manual aperture ring then it needs to be set and locked at the smallest aperture setting (usually f22 marked in red) as the camera takes care of this function in all but full manual mode. If the lens does not have an aperture ring then it may be a lens malfunction. Since you don't give a whole lot of information I'm just guessing. Nikon D610 Err
error on new Nikon DSLR camerasHow to fix blinking "Err" error on new Nikon DSLR camerasJune 6, 2010 nikon d80 err shutter stuck By Nasim Mansurov92 CommentsSo you got yourself a brand new DSLR and after using it for a little while got the dreaded "Err" error on your camera LCD? Fear http://www.dcresource.com/forums/showthread.php?10647-Nikon-D70-Error-message-quot-E-r-r-quot not, your camera might not damaged and there might be no need to return it back to Nikon, as they suggest in most camera manuals. The reason why this error comes up, is because your camera is not properly communicating with your lens due to some dirt and grease both on camera and lens contacts. The solution is pretty simple https://photographylife.com/how-to-fix-blinking-err-error-on-new-nikon-dslr-cameras - all you have to do is dismount your lens and clean the lens contacts, then clean camera contacts and mount the lens back on the camera and see what happens. Sounds too complicated? Are you afraid to damage your camera and/or lens? Then keep reading, because I will show you exactly what needs to be done.So here is the step-by-step process:Dismount camera lens - before you remove the lens, make sure that you are doing this in a clean environment indoors. I prefer to do it at night (when kids are sleeping) in the bathroom :) If you have not dismounted a lens from your camera yet, now is the time to learn. Turn off your camera. Press the lens release button located to the left of the lens when the camera is viewed from the top, then rotate the lens clock-wise to dismount the lens as shown here. Right after the lens is dismounted, put the black plastic camera cap back on the camera lens mount to prevent dust from getting into the camer
alphab, Apr 23, 2011. Apr 23, 2011 #1 alphab Member Hi, Would anyone know what the problem my be? When pressing the shutter release button i get http://www.amateurphotographer.co.uk/forums/threads/nikon-d70-err-message.88924/ "err message" and then have to press again to release it (no pics obviously) Its not doing it all the time just occaisionally. Any help appreciated as to what the problem may be Al Apr 23, 2011 #2 spangler Well-Known Member Do you change lenses on the camera or just use the kit lens? It could be a communication problem between camera and lens in which case try cleaning error codes the contacts. Andrew Apr 23, 2011 #3 alphab Member Use Nikon 70-300mm ED lens always attached hardly ever unscrew Apr 24, 2011 #4 spangler Well-Known Member Then remove the lens and gently clean the electrical contacts! Andrew Apr 24, 2011 #5 Atavar Well-Known Member As Andrew says, the first port of call for the Err message is the communication between camera and lens. With the host of nikon d80 err moving parts and the mirror flapping the air inside the camera about violently, greasy particles can build up on the contacts it seems, which require a little attention every so often. If you open the camera and see some black on the contacts, it definitely needs it and even if you can't see anything its worth a rub just in case. Also, as this is the lens you use most often with the camera, test it with another lens to see if you are getting the same message to see if it could be the lens communication that has gone awry. As dSLRs are mostly electronic jiggery pokery inside, this is one of the very few parts we as users can actually have some maintenance control over, so its a quick clean of the contacts and maybe after that a desperate two-button reset, with a last-ditch firmware upgrade/refresh but if the problem persists you'll have no other action but to send it off to the menders, unfortunately.
