Perhaps it is not quite set properly where it is.Also . . . wipe all metal contacts with a soft cloth . . . the new camera will be shipped with a protective coating on the metal contacts and their may be some film residue there preventing proper contact.Regards, Van Griff Van Griff's gear list:Van Griff's gear list Nikon D700 Nikon D7000 Nikon AF-S Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8D ED-IF Nikon AF Nikkor 105mm f/2D DC Nikon AF Nikkor 135mm f/2D DC +28 more Reply Reply with quote Complain jamiesmithnc OP • New Member • Posts: 5 Re: fEE Error on nikon d7000, aperture ring is already locked In reply to Van Griff • Feb 19, 2011 I tried cleaning the contacts (on both the body & the lens), and futzing with the aperture ring. SeanConaty 6 years ago How to Solve the blinking "FEE" error message on a Nikon DSLR In this video, it is demonstrated how to get rid of a "FEE" error message on a Nikon DSLR camera. The solution is fairly simple http://digital-cameras.wonderhowto.com/how-to/solve-blinking-fee-error-message-nikon-dslr-334503/ and quick to do. First you will want to turn your camera on to where you see the "FEE" error message on the LCD screen. Next, you will set the camera's aperture ring to the highest number available. After this, the last step is to lock the aperture ring by using the switch. After doing this step, your camera should return back to normal working order and the "FEE" error message on the camera's top LCD should disappear.
