Today, I compiled and ran, got no errors or warnings, but on the bottom of XCode there is a message saying > Error From Debugger: Failed to launch > simulated application: iOS Simulator > failed to install application This is the Internal error window that pops up after trying to "build and go" once again, File: /SourceCache/IndigoDebuggingPlugin/IndigoDebuggingPlugin-44/iPhoneSimulatorDevice/XCiPhoneSimulatorDevice.m Line: 341 Object: Method: _launchSimulatedExecutable: Assertion failed: nil == _currentSimulatorSession I looked for help around the internet and I've tried deleting my build folder manually, cleaning and building, and I've just recently completely reinstalled XCode and the whole SDK. Also when quitting XCode with this project open, it gives me this in an error message: Failed to close project Reason: ASSERTION FAILURE in /SourceCache/iPhoneSimulatorRemoteClient/iPhoneSimulatorRemoteClient-18/Source/DTiPhoneSimulatorSession.m:147 Details: requestEndWithTimeout: called on failed session. After the first time install iPhone SDK 2.2.1, start a new project(any type, Navigate based, OpenGL ES application), then build and go, I got the following problem: sometime it's: Failed to launch simulated application: Unknown error. and sometimes it's: Failed to launch simulated application: iPhone Simulator failed to find the process ID of com.yourcompany.[application name] It seems that apps in the simulator crashed immediately, so Xcode can find the process ID. Solution This link says that this even can't be solved. Some others make a detailed step by step: Uncheck Info.plist Quit XCode Delete directory /Lib/Caches/com.apple.DeveloperTools.### Open Xcode project Clean All Targets Rebuild and I reset the iPhone Simulator. This also didn't solve the problem… I've even tried uninstall the SDK and reinstall it, still got the same error… Is this a problem related with hardwares? or the operating system version? I'm using a hackintosh (iDenebv1.4 10.5.6), all other software works good including iTunes && vmware fusion. Great thanks for any further tips or clues! iphone xcode

When trying to Build and Run, the application builds fine. The simulator starts but doesn't start the application. However, it manages to do something since the icon for the app is installed in the simulator. I have been searching to find the answer and tried a couple of things, none that worked. This happens for both new and old projects. I.e. when I create a new project I will receive the same error message. I've tried several projects of which all get the same error, so it's not related to the code (and successful builds proves it). Among other things I have updated to xCode 3.2.2. in order to try to solve the problem. Using Mac OSX 10.6.3. Unanswered Unable to debug in simulator on Mac Mini from Windows 8 JoshEarl Josh EarlUSMember ✭ February 2013 in iOS I just installed Xamarin 2.0 on my Windows 8 ThinkPad and my OS X Lion Mac Mini. I created a project with the Visual Studio iPhone HelloWorld template, targeting iOS 6.1. I'm able to connect to the Mini as a build server from Visual Studio 2012, but when I try to debug on the simulator, it crashes with and pops up a dialog with a vague error: Server returned an error. The operation has timed out The simulated application quit. Click Relaunch to try again. The following non-specific error appears in the Visual Studio console: Mono.IOS.VisualStudio.Utilities.ErrorReportManager Error: 0 : Failed to run application. Mono.IOS.VisualStudio.Utilities.ErrorReportManager Error: 0 : The request was aborted: The operation has timed out. (Build Server) Operation status: Operation failed HTTP status: 0 (Reserved code) Exception: System.Net.WebException (The request was aborted: The operation has timed out. at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse() at MonoTouch.Tools.Utilities.ServerIO.Server_GetResult[T](ServerIOState state, String command, IDictionary`2 queryVariables) Server returned an error. The request was aborted: The operation has timed out. At one point, I also got the following error in the VS console: Failed to launch simulated application: SpringBoard failed to launch application with error: 7 But that one hasn't popup up since I first noticed it. I've restarted both computers, and I also tried the cache-clearing steps recommended in this thread, but the issue is still occurring. I'm able to debug the project from Xamarin Studio directly from the Mac Mini. Any suggestions for next steps? 1 «12» Go Posts ViniciusJ
