Look at the messages in UTPRINT. It lists the version of DFSORT you are running. I have not used sort in a long time, so check and see if you have to tell sort to use more work files or just adding them is enough. Look at the options, maybe there is a parameter that says how many work data sets to use. There is probably an entry about this here if you do a search for it.
