basic commands (ls -a). I have an old socket 7 motherboard (Asus TX97E) with a pentium 166. The video card is an Asus card, while the specific card is not http://osdir.com/ml/linux.redhat.release.valhalla/2003-01/msg00036.html listed in rh7.3, the chip is detected correctly during install. S3Trio64V2. The monitor is a HP 15Gle, also detected correctly during install. The install was just a standard workstation with games and kde. I have installed red hat 7.3 and specified to boot into a graphical login using kde. I end up at a shell prompt. Xconfigurator does not work from the shell prompt. A blue screen and error from "Segmentation fault" is the result. I also get the message: "'x' respawning too fast, disabled for 5 minutes." I have changed the svga driver line in XF86Config from svga to vesa upon a suggestion from a friend. This line is/was in the screen device section of the file and was directly below the S3Trio64V2 line.
