Occasionally cPanel has an issue with DNS such as this and will show this error. Usually adding the domain as a Parked domain and then removing it will "reset" the DNS, allowing you to continue with the creation of your Addon domain. However, in this case, I tried that work around and still received the same error. Our Systems Team was able to resolve this issue for you and videogameshelpblog.com is now set up as an Addon domain in cPanel. Please let us know if you have any additional questions or need further assistance. Regards, Christi N. To submit a comment on this answer, please first login. Want to share this Question? domain wrapper: domain.com is owned by another userPosted on: May 06, 2015I've seen this error pop up from time to time when adding a subdomain, addon, or parked domain. This happens when the domain was on the server previously, but was not properly removed. To correct this, try the following.1. Remove the new domain name from the following files/etc/named.conf /var/cpanel/users/cpanel-username2. Remove the following file/var/named/newdomain.com.db3. Remove the virtualhost for the new http://www.webhostinghub.com/help/community/file-management/error-from-domain-wrapper-is-owned-by-another-user domain name/usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf4. Run this command once you did the above/scripts/updateuserdomains5. Remove the newdomain.com cache file/var/cpanel/userdata/cpanelusername/newdomain.cacheIf you try it now, you should be able to add the new domain Outsourced SupportHelpdesk SupportTelephone SupportLive Chat SupportSoftware DevelopersServer ManagementMergers & AcquisitionsVirtual AssistantRequest A Support QuoteSupport FeaturesEnglish Support24/7 x 365Branded SupportReduced http://serversitters.com/error-from-domain-wrapper-domain-com-is-owned-by-another-user.html OverheadLinux ExpertsFriendly StaffServer Sitters is an Outsourced Hosting Support provider. was trying to add subdomains to one of my cPanel accounts. This happens when cPanel doesn't remove the subdomain correctly and then it thinks it's still there so when you try to add it back on you get an error. Here's how to fix https://jadendreamer.wordpress.com/2007/12/19/cpanel-fix-error-from-domain-wrapper-domaincom-is-owned-by-another-user/ it: 1. Remove domain.com from /var/cpanel/users/cpanel-username 3. Run /scripts/updateuserdomains as root user on the server https://mkwserver.com/knowledgebase.php?action=displayarticle&id=31 because you changed the above file manually, this will create adjusted cache files 2. Remove /var/named/domain.com.db if the file exists (it doesn't always) 3. Remove the virtualhost for domain.com on /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf 4. Remove domain.com from /etc/named.conf Now you can add the domain back on in cPanel with no problems. Thanks in advance. February 14, 2008 at 7:17 pm Jade says: Yes! That was the one of the problems I was getting. If you go to your apache conf files you should be able to manually input the sub domain record and then run the script. That should fix it.
