"Error getting clipboard data"I click on Ok, it prompts me with another error2. "There is not enough memory or resources to complete operation. Close some programs, then try again"It's less prone to happen when I use alt-printscreen instead of normal printscreen and indeed when I have have less windows/apps open, and doesn't happen at all with my second monitor disabled. It didn't happen a few months ago ( yes I've been having this problem since December) and I took at least hundred of 2560x1280 print screens even with 30 windows open no problems before that time.I've found the question on loads of Google results but nobody has had an answer except for disabling the 2nd screen or creating a new user account ( all people experiencing the problem are running dual screens, happens to both ATI and NVIDIA users). Also found it on this :http://www.experts-exchange.com/OS/Microso...Q_23211321.htmlBut obv. I can't see the reply as you need to pay for it .Anybody know

It then fails with a dialog box that says "unable to get the data from the clipboard"Only a reboot seems to fix the problem. A logout/login is insufficient.I googled, but no one seems to have the answer. It may be keyboard related as copy/paste work fine it just seems to be the "print screen" button is not copying the screen to the paste buffer correctly. It's not pasting nothing because I can empty the paste buffer and then press "print screen" and get the message. It would be nice to cure this issue, rather than fixing it with a reboot.Machine is running XP SP2 fullky up to date and virus free. and when I try to paste it into a program, it doesn't work. Can't figure out why. Windows XP SP2 Dual monitors It just stopped working one day. I'll try to think back to what I installed recently meanwhile... Viper007Bond, Nov 30, 2004 #1 Viper007Bond Newbie I just looked up all of the programs that are running right now according to task manager and I doubt any of them are responsible. WTF?!?! Viper007Bond, Nov 30, 2004 #2 goldfries www.goldfries.com broken keyboard? have you tried other keyboards? goldfries, Nov 30, 2004 #3 Viper007Bond Newbie Well, it's Print-Screening, but won't paste. Wait, this is weird. I opened MSPaint to see the error it was giving me, realized I had text on my clipboard, hit Print Screen and it worked! Print-Screened some other things, kept working! However, as soon as I close Paint, it stops working! And now even with MSPaint open, it's not working! The error Paint is giving me is: "Error getting the Clipboard Data!" -> OK "There is not enough memory or resources to complete operation. Close some programs, and then try again." -> OK WTF, I have a gig of RAM and it's not all being used. Perhaps the file where the clipboard contents is corrupted... Viper007Bond, Nov 30, 2004 #4 Viper007Bond Newbie Just rebooted and it's been working find so far. I've rebooted before and it's stopped working, so I'd imagine it's just a matter of time until it stops working again.
