Initially I was thinking you might have: commit 66a27dde9ae96e35278983f2e59bea04eb714cd0 Author: David Vrabel Date: Mon Jul 9 11:39:06 2012 +0100 xen/mm: zero PTEs for non-present MFNs in the initial page table When constructing the initial page tables, if the MFN for a usable PFN is missing in the p2m then that frame is initially ballooned out. In this case, zero the PTE (as in decrease_reservation() in drivers/xen/balloon.c). This is obviously safe instead of having an valid PTE with an MFN of INVALID_P2M_ENTRY (~0). Signed-off-by: David Vrabel Signed-off-by: Konrad Rzeszutek Wilk but that is the opposite problem - you would have bizzare PTEs like: 0xfffffffff023 which is not what you are seeing. No, you are seeing us trying to allocate a PTE for which the M2P tells us that we do not have. That either means somebody is trying to call ioremap and we are using the PFN as if it was a MFN. Meaning PFN 2009b is being set.. But I can't fanthom why it would - especially as you are in the middle of the kernel mapping. The other option is that our P2M has somewhere been corrupted? And we decided to give you 2009b instead of something correct. Can you give me access to your xen

Since this is 32-bit, I wonder if you are hitting the CONFIG_NUMA issue... but I think you reported error getting it some time ago and did you try the fix? > I thought it could be related to > xen/mmu: Release just the MFN list, not MFN list and part of pagetables. > http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/konrad/xen.git;a=commit;h=785f62314984ea3af9dd830b020289ba2509ae69 That shouldn't be it - b/c the URL you mentioned is for the set of patches that are destined for v3.7. > > (XEN) Freed 212kB init error getting mfn memory. > (XEN) mm.c:908:d0 Error getting mfn 2009b (pfn 5555555555555555) from > L1 entry 000000002009b023 for l1e_owner=0, pg_owner=0 > (XEN) mm.c:908:d0 Error getting mfn 2009c (pfn 5555555555555555) from > L1 entry 000000002009c023 for l1e_owner=0, pg_owner=0 > [...] > (XEN) mm.c:908:d0 Error getting mfn c32116 (pfn 5555555555555555) from > L1 entry 8000000c32116063 for l1e_owner=0, pg_owner=0 > (XEN) mm.c:908:d0 Error getting mfn c32117 (pfn 5555555555555555) from > L1 entry 8000000c32117063 for l1e_owner=0, pg_owner=0 Please use 'sync_console loglvl=all dom0_max_vcpus=1 console=com1 com1=xxxxx' and on the Linux command line: 'console=hvc0 debug loglevel=8" > (XEN) ../physdev.c:171: dom0: wrong map_pirq type 3 > > Any hint? > > Regards, > -- > William _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@xxxxxxxxxxxxx http://lists.xen.org/xen-devel Follow-Ups: Re: [Xen-devel] Error getting mfn From: William Dauchy Re: [Xen-devel] Error getting mfn From: William Dauchy References: [Xen-devel] Error getting mfn From: William Dauchy Prev by Date: [Xen-devel] [xen-unstable test] 13805: tolerable FAIL Next by Date: Re: [Xen-devel] Dom0 crash with old style AMD NUMA detection Previous by thread: [Xen-devel] Error getting mfn Next by thread: Re: [Xen-devel] Error getting mfn Index(es): Date Thread ©2013 Xen Proj
