Error message Posted on 2005-02-22 Exchange 2 Verified Solutions 12 Comments 8,185 Views Last Modified: 2012-08-14 Hi, We have a Exchange 2003 server. We are trying to use ExMerge v6.5.7408.1. I always get this error message: Error encountered getting mailbox information from the private information store database(s) on server 'SERVERNAME'. Make sure you have adequate permissions on the Information Store object. Please refer to the 'C:\Program Files\ExMerge\ExMerge.log' log file for more information. I applied the following KB articles and still the same error: KB292509 and KB867503. Any other ideas? If the account is a part of Administrators, Domain Admins, Enterprise Admins, Exchange Domain Servers, they would have Explicit Deny Permissions. And Deny permissions always overrides Allow. So the best possible way you can make sure that you have the permissions straight is: 1. Create a new user account in AD. 2. On the Exchange System Manager, on the properties of the server, add the account in the security tab and provide Send As and Receive As permissions for that acocunt. Make sure that there are no Explicit Deny permissions. 3. Make sure that the security settings have propagated to the Storage Group level and also the Store level. If th

processing of mailboxes on other Exchange servers fails A fix is available IBM Content Collector V2.2 Fix Pack 2 Subscribe You can track all active http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1HE07060 APARs for this component. APAR status Closed as program error. Error description http://documentation.commvault.com/commvault/v10/article?p=products/exchange_mailbox/backup_troubleshooting.htm Local fix Problem summary IBM Content Collector always retrieved information about mailbox from the Exchange server. Requesting this information from an Exchange 2007 server requires "View Information Store Status" permission. If you used an account without administrative rights, retrieving information about mailbox limits failed and the following message was written to error getting the Content Collector Email Connector log file: could not obtain mailbox table. MAPI error code: 'MAPI_E_NO_ACCESS' Subsequent calls to open a mailbox succeeded if the mailbox was located on the same Exchange server as the mailbox of the account that was running the Email Connector service. However, if the mailbox was located on a different Exchange server, processing failed and the following message was error getting table written to the Content Collector Email Connector log file: AFUM0009E: An error occurred: The Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) function 'IMAPISession::OpenMsgStore (private)' failed with return code 'MAPI_E_FAILONEPROVIDER'. The problem occurs because Microsoft Exchange 2007 caches information about failed access and does not allow any further calls if a call failed, even if subsequent calls require other privileges than the failed call. Problem conclusion Starting with this fix, the Email Connector only retrieves information about mailbox limits from the Exchange server if "Open mailbox with privileged access" is selected on the Connection tab of the Email Connector configuration. Note that after applying the fix, you must restart the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service on the affected Exchange Servers to clear the cache.
