It is installed on 5 PCs in the same company. All of a sudden, when the users open a particular form, they get one error message or another, but both error messages end with the text "There was an error loading an ActiveX control on one of your forms or reports". On one of the PCs, a Compact and Repair seemed to help, but not on any of the others. I'm thinking an OS patch may have messed something up, or a software install that I'm unaware of. The form in question uses 2 ActiveX controls, a ListView and a DatePicker control. Each of these require their own OCX to be loaded and registered. Does anybody have any experience with a similar issue? Any ideas on how to proceed? Presumably, if I identified and reinstalled the pertinent control set (which should re-register its OCX), that may help. Any ideas? Thanks a LOT for any help.Ron Mittelman Thursday, August 16, 2012 7:36 PM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote Hi Ron, There have been some issues reported after security update MS12-060 was installed and it looks like KB articles 2748410 and 2687441 appear to be related to your scenario. 2748410 Security Update MS12-060 Impairs Functionality of Access Database http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2748410/EN-US 2687441 MS12-060: Description of the security update for 2007 Office system: August 14, 2012 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2687441/EN

MS Access Treeview error loading ActiveX control P: 7 Mat Son recently an error appeared with a Treeview element in my access form. The expression Expand you entered as the event property setting produced the following error: There was an error laoding an ActiveX control on one of your forms or reports. When I click "OK" (only opportunity) the next error appears (Expand is replaced by MouseMove, MouseDown/Up, DblClick etc.), when I https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/404c00b5-5fd8-4153-bb84-66b8d389cdd2/problem-with-activex-control-on-form-access-2007?forum=accessdev press Keys the KeyDown/Up/Press Message appears etc. When I interact with the TreeView then the "Expand" is replaced by e.g. NodeClick or Collapse. Every message only appears once, when I performed every possible Event no message pops up - but the treeview doesnt work, it doesnt open any form (the treeview is used as a menu). The mysterious thing to me is - last week those Access Databases https://bytes.com/topic/access/answers/942483-ms-access-treeview-error-loading-activex-control all worked fine - we have a database for every customer (frontend and data together) and now suddenly every database 'crashes'. I assumed that the ActiveX Treeview Control was changed by a Windows Update or something similar but also an old WinXP laptop throws the same error messages. Even a database that hasnt been opened for 2 weeks and definitely worked back then doesnt work anymore. So from my point of view there cant be anything in the code that is wrong. Nevertheless I tried to set a breakpoint in the Form_Load event, but the Expand Error already pops up before the first line of OnLoad is executed. The OnLoad Event is the only event that is specified (GUI says "Event Procedure", its VBA Code only) and all other fields are blank (and no code specified). I created a blank VBA for e.g. MouseMove, but the error still appears. What is this error and where does it come from? Hope anyone can help. And imported the same form from my back up db which was running well before. But while importing the the above msg displayed and in code lines the msg displyed like this: There was an error loading an ActiveX control on one of your form or reports. Make sure all the controls that you are using are properly registered. And when run the
