Every time I start it, it gives me this message: Error loading address book. We were unable to open this address book. Please check that the path /home/kirill/.evolution/addressbook/local/system exists and that you have permission to access it. Detailed error: Other error I did check the path, it is there, and I https://forums.opensuse.org/showthread.php/417980-Address-Book-in-Evolution do have correct authorizations (read/write) Please advise. Close Evolution and try renaming the *.db files under that path (i.e., file.db.backup) to allow Evolution recreate them on start. The error is (I translated it on my own): unable to open address book. This is because you entered a wrong URI or the server is unavailable at the moment. Details: cannot error loading address open book: source already loaded! Sometimes, when I click the button 'reject error', it does load the address book but when I return to Evolution after a while, it gives me the same error and sometimes I cannot load the address book. This is very annoying since I have to use Evolution a lot. evolution contacts gmail google address-book share|improve this question edited Sep 25 '12 at 15:32 BuZZ-dEE 6,600104163 asked Jun 19 '12 at 13:42 wouter205 143115 Not immediately a solution to your problem, but have you considered changing from evolution to thunderbird? I suppose you use 12.04(?) I also have a gmail account and changed from evolution to thunderbird upon upgrading from Lucid to Pangolin. Works very elegantly, and with lightning (the calendar addon), your gmail calender is also synced. Should give it a try. Sorry I can't help you with your immediate problem, though (another belgian) –Tinellus Jun 19 '12 at 19:37 I tried it, but didn't succeed to get the gmail calendar plugin to work (I installed it but didn't find it in the menu's then). That's when I moved back to evolution since I'm using it for over a year. Thanks Belgian colleague. –wouter205 Jun 20 '12 at 12:46 I have not experien
Aug 2009 13:04:02 +0800 hello, I am very appreciate for your help, base on your help I made a 'addressbook.db' file from a vcard file, then I moved the addressbook.db which generated by myself to already existenced directory ~/.evolution/addressbook/local/system/, but I got error message while I opened evolution to watch the contact, said: " Error loading address book. This address book cannot be opened. Please check that the path /home/yeyo/.evolution/addressbook/local/system exists and that permissions are set to access it. Detailed error message: Other error " I don't know what's the difference between evolution's addressbook.db and my generate addressbook.db how can I do that evolution load my generate addressbook.db file by the way what does 'factory' and 'view' used to be?
