been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator" message coming up on my home pc. I cannot see or access my control panel anymore, anytime I try to right click and go to properties on my desktop or anything else, the same message comes up. I was having issues with numerous pop ups, noises playing in the background but I couldn't find them, etc..., I went and purchased Kaspersky 7.0, ran a full computer scan and while it did stop the pop ups, etc, I still cannot access my control panel to add/remove programs, etc. Now my desktop is completely white with a message saying MS Windows has http://www.dllsafe.com/fix-file-error/Asksbar.dll.html experienced an error and turned off my active destop. There is a button prompting "Restore My Active Desktop" but when I click it, I get a IE Script Error Message dialog box that pops up asking if I want to continue running scripts on this page. Nothing happens when I hit either the 'yes' or 'no' button. My daughter and I are the only two people who use this laptop, there are no other users, so I https://forum.kaspersky.com/lofiversion/index.php/t53447.html don't understand why I'm getting the System Administrator message.I am trying to avoid doing a complete reinstall of Windows XP if at all possible, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Lucian Bara 25.11.2007 18:25 hellodo a scan with superantispyware: http://www.superantispyware.com/ see if it detects something, remove it.then post a combofix log (c:\combofix.txt): http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe cab1213 25.11.2007 19:03 Thanks Lucien, I'm running a scan now. So far it's detected over 700 potentially harmful software apps, several Trojans (Trojan.WinFixer, Trojan.NetMon/DNS Change, Trojan.cmnService, and Trojan.PestTrap) all of the others are adware so far. One adware says it's an "Adware tracking cookie", what is that? Why didn't Kaspersky recognize these files? I sure hope this works. I just tried copying files, photos, etc., to a DVD for backup just in case I do have to reinstall XP, and I'm getting another error message telling me Windows has encountered a problem trying to copy this folder. I've tried opening files and saving them to the DVD and that's not working either...oy!What does the Combo Fix Log you recommend I post do? Lucian Bara 25.11.2007 19:05 tracking cookie is a cookie which stores information such as surfing behaviour for ad servers. kaspersky doesn't detect cookies, and you can block them from your browser.as for the rest, no product can offer 100% detection and cleaning. cab1213 25.11.2007 19:13 Thank you for your quick responses! cab1213 25.11.2007 21:29
