The last and final thing that I can think of is that I am using a 64 bit machine, but I downloaded the 32 bit versions of the jdk and eclipse. Would this be the reason? On my xp machine it works (it's a 32 bit machine). help!!! thanks in advance. android eclipse ddms share|improve this question asked Oct 27 '11 at 3:12 pqsk 70621525 I want to know if I should worry about this error. I haven't noticed any problems, but I don't like seeing this error. –Gabriel Fair Jan 19 '12 at 20:22 1 I forgot about this. I never got a resolution, but it turned out that it was the firewall. The problem is with agnitum outpost firewall. There are work arounds with different versions (and different vendor firewalls), but I could not get it to work on Windows 7 x64. Very strange because it works on Windows XP. The solution would be to submit a ticket to them and see if they can help or install another firewall. I just using my xp for development for now. You can't deploy with this error, at least in my case. –pqsk Feb 8 '12 at 15:39 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote accepted So the problem in fact was the firewall agnitum outpost firewall. And the problem is on both Windows 7 64 and 32 bit systems (although mine was professional, so I can't say if all versions would have the same problem..I would imagine so). On windows xp there were no problems. I found a lot of solutions online that addressed the issue, but on other versions of their product (not their free versions). I tried to apply those, but none worked.

I start eclipse using terminal and after the eclipse start working in terminal appears : "Error Loading DDMS Preferences" Why does the error appear? How to fix that? Secondly, when i try to set up Android Virtual Device (I fill fields like AVD Name, Device, Target and so http://stackoverflow.com/questions/15912483/ddms-and-virtual-creator-dont-work-in-eclipse on) and click ok button in 'create new android virtual device (AVD)' window, nothing happens appart popping up an error : "SDK Manager] Error: null" in eclipse console (previous window doesn't disappear) How to make this creator to work properly? I am not sure if those two issues have something in common. android linux eclipse ddms share|improve this question edited Apr 9 '13 at 21:10 William Pursell 92.8k21154199 asked Apr 9 '13 at 21:02 maskotky 445 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote I found an interesting settings file in workspace/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.runtime/.settings/com.android.ide.eclipse.ddms.prefs I tried to remove it but it didn't help. What helped though, was to unplug all android devices and then start Eclipse. share|improve this answer answered Jun 25 '13 at 14:17 vidstige 6,82933371 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the privacy policy and terms of service.
