Summary: Windows Vista has a security system which prevents malicious software to be installed. Sometimes this security system can cause problems with the Toshiba BIOS upgrade under Vista when the BIOS update tries to run the Bios update application "WinPhlash.exe" which needs access to lower hardware levels. This problem can be fixed by running the file error loading driver with admin privileges. Resolution: The File "WinPhlash.exe" must be executed explicitly with admin privileges to make sure that the BIOS update gets all the needed privileges to run properly. The following step describes how to run the file "WinPhlash.exe" explicitly with admin privileges: Go into the folder where "WinPhlash.exe" is located Right-Click on the file and Left-Click on "Run as administrator" If the UAC (User Account Control) Windows appears click on "Continue" Specify the BIOS file which is located in the same folder like "PhlashNT.sys" (usually a *.WPH file) Make sure the path to the BIOS update is correctly and perform the BIOS update Make sure the AC-adapter is connected and no peripherals are attached Do not power off the machine during the BIOS update, just waituntil the update procedure finished.
