Error Loading /library/quicktime/divx Decoder.component
by Cortig on Tue, 11/24/2009 - 08:51 General Discussion DivX 6 (.avi, .divx) Hi, I checked my logs today and noticed tons of entries for the DivX decoder. They all look like this: 24/11/09 10:09:45 UserNotificationCenter[1867] Error loading /Library/QuickTime/DivX Decoder.component/Contents/MacOS/DivX Decoder: dlopen(/Library/QuickTime/DivX Decoder.component/Contents/MacOS/DivX Decoder, 262): no suitable image found. Did find: /Library/QuickTime/DivX Decoder.component/Contents/MacOS/DivX Decoder: no matching architecture in universal wrapper Apparently, something is wrong with the Universal structure of the Encoder and QuickTime continuously displays these warnings. I'm using the latest DivX package for Mac (7.2) on a Mac Pro 4 x 3.0GHz, 8GB RAM, under MacOS X 10.6.2. My Mac is 64-bit capable, though I'm not sure the DivX encoder is in any way optimized for 64 bit :-\ Corentin Login to post comments Actually, I think I read Submitted by jenaeasofie on Wed, 07/25/2012 - 23:09. Actually, I think I read somewhere that resizing to that triggers the HD quality at youtube.perhaps that's the agenda seems the majority here is bootlegged. - Garrett Hoelscher Login to post comments Of note… even the Submitted by Cortig on Wed, 12/02/2009 - 07:26. Of note… even the prefpane isn't 64 bit and requires relaunching the System preferences to launch in 32 bit. I eventually decided to disable the decoder. No more warning, no more problem. I enabled Perian instead. Their decoder is 64 bit and does a fairly good job. No comment on these warnings? I'm still waiting on a response as to why the fancy-pants-use-all-these-cool-sounding-features-opengl-renderer is so slow. Not gonna happen I guess :/ Login to post comments Well it looks like the nasty Submitted by Cortig on Thu, 12/03/2009 - 08:54. Well it looks like the nasty issue

Yesterday everything was fine . Opened up today and Logic wanted to scan all audio units . Fine , it seems to want to do a full scan occasionally , only after the scanning process all the units in the Audio Units Manager were showing " couldn't be opened " . Logic X will scan them but not validate them . They are all legitimate software . I have spent the whole day reading ... I've trashed prefs , audio caches etc ,, repaired disk permissions . I even re installed Logic . All the "components" are there . Why all plugins .. at the same time ? I can force validate them to run as "incompatible " audio units but that makes me nervous . Does this tell anyone where the problem might be ? Top nicksaya Posts: 50 Joined: Sun Nov 11, 2007 1:18 pm Location: NYC Contact: Contact nicksaya Website AU Plugins Can't be opened.
