If I put midas.dll in the same folder / directory on System32 I always get error message Error loading midas.dll, but if I put midas.dll on the desktop then the error message does not appear and the application runs normally. How to handle midas.dll so I can place it in the same error loading midas.dll windows 10 folder? delphi datasnap share|improve this question edited Sep 17 '14 at 15:25 Jan Doggen 4,386123068 asked Sep 16 '14 at 20:07 X-88 9117 That's more than weird. Having the library in the same folder as your executable should be enough (this article confirms that by "If you need to distribute this application you may also need to deploy this library to a location where the application can find it." which means that your app. is not searching for midas.dll in some predefined path, but is most probably using the common DLL search mechanism). –TLama Sep 16 '14 at 20:21 but what if I put midas.dll at C: \ Windows \ System32 as the default Delphi applications can did not detect the presence of midas.dll? why it should be put in place that is not supposed to (Desktop)? I've tried on the previous OS: XP, Seven & Linux BT5-R3 all goes as in the picture?!?! ... –X-88 Sep 16 '14 at 20:24 1 Don't ever write to system32 –David Heffernan Sep 16 '14 at 20:33 5 Just for curiosity : Why are you using the midas.dll and not the MidasLib unit? –RRUZ Sep 16 '14 at 20

Solved Error loading Midas.dll Posted on 2003-07-04 Delphi 1 Verified Solution 6 Comments 3,913 Views Last Modified: 2007-12-19 Hi, Does midas.dll need to be somehow introduced to windows? I have a small app which is is sent to potential client companies to present some data . It was planned to be a "breafcase" app, which does not require any installation. It is based on TClientDataSet components which requires midas.dll. In most cases sending the dll with the program worked ok, but sometimes I got the "Error loading Midas.dll" message. How can I make sure that my app will work on any windows (win32)? Another way is to put the .dll in the same folder as your application file (.exe) but for that to work, you have to make sure that your shortcut's "Start In Directory" is the application directory and is not empty. 0 LVL 14 Overall: Level 14 Delphi 14 Message Accepted Solution by:DragonSlayer2003-07-04 and of course, if you are interested to know, you can choose to NOT
