The key to do this can be F1, F2,esc or Del key a second or two after power up. The splash screen should tell you what key to press to enter the bios also. You need to do one or two things. A. Set the boot order of devices, in what we error loading operating system vista call the boot list. 1. CD/DVD rom drive. 2. New hard drive. You may also have to change the interface used. There will be an option in the bios that sets the modes. Sata or Ahci. If the mode is set to sata change it to Ahci mode. Save the settings before exiting the bios. I thought that maybe there was a problem with the partition table that gparted was not able to detect. So I used fdisk to reformat everything. A
