Turn on the PC and immediately start pressing the F8 key to see if it will bring up a startup menu. If it does then select the Repair Computer option and hit enter to see if that brings up the screen to allow a system recovery. If so, follow the prompts to perform a factory restore (complete system recovery). If none of this works, then the next step would be to reinstall Windows from a disc. The issue there would be that since your pc doesn't have a CD drive you would need to either purchase an external CD drive or take it to a shop to have it done. You would also need a recovery cd which you may not have. If this is the case I would recommend calling asus for warranty repair and I'm sure they would assist

Press the power button and immediately start tapping the F2 key to go into your BIOS. Once there, arrow to boot and down arrow to boot booster. Press enter and arrow to disable and press enter. Press F10 to save your BIOS changes and your machine will start to reboot. Immediately start tapping F9 in the reboot sequence. I do not have access to or can get a usb cd-rom, hence only a usb stick Aug 1, 2009 #1 raybay TS Evangelist Posts: 7,241 +9 Tell us more about EeePC and how it is configured. But in general, your ability to use Windows XP on a USB stick is limited by the fact that Windows Requires the CD or DVD version. It simply will not install from a flash drive, due to the Microsoft security that is used to protect their control over who uses it. There are tricks and hacks you can find on other sites, but TechSpot does not support the kind of work that may be necessary to install from a Flash Drive. What is more, it will take some real study, wherever you find guidance. Aug 1, 2009 #2 hellokitty[hk] Hello, nice to meet you! Posts: 3,433 +143 What raybay says sounds true, but techspot does however have a how to thread titled "How to install all of windows XP on a USB flash drive", and the "How to install and boot windows on an external (USB) hard drive" thread. Things do get slightly more complicated if linux is on, you will have to spend an additional step in the install process to format the linux partitions if you don't want them.
