Symptoms: 1. When booting normally after displaying the POST screen, the following error is displayed on a black error loading screen: Error loading operating system. (The only way to exit this is to restart either by holding down power button or by pressing Ctrl Alt Del. Unable to enter Safe Mode, the same error is displayed.) 2. When booting from Windows Vista DVD, the "Windows is loading files" bar is displayed, followed by the normall Vista loading bar, then error loading operating just a solid black screen (after about two minutes of the normal Vista loading bar). The Vista 'Install Windows' dialog (allowing choice of Language, time/currency format and keyboard options) is never displayed. (The only way to exit this is to restart by holding down power button. Even if left for hours, nothing happens.) What I've done: 1. Able to boot into another PE environment successfully from CD 2. Hard drive detected by BIOS 3. BIOS running latest version 4. Reset BIOS to factory defaults 5. Removed battery and powered on with only power. Some forums have recommended this solutionto others in a similar situation, butthis does not apply.
