Error Loading Operating System Windows Xp
one goes to boot up his computer and upon trying to load windows, is confronted with a message : "Error Loading Operating System" I was fairly consternated when this happened to me. Having this problem for some time I have been able to do a bit of research on the topic. This problem most often will occur when one is trying to install a new error loading operating system windows xp virtualbox OS, the message will appear during the reboot portion of setup. I, however, had been running this system two years with no prior problems. When this was the case, for other people, the HD was often corrupted, damaged, old. After running several scans on my HD, I ruled out this possibility after failing to find the slightest error. Going on the possibility that the Windows installation may be corrupted (Note: I can boot Windows off a floppy disk, made to boot Windows XP) i tried the FixBoot and FixMBR functions on my install disk. No luck. I installed a working version of BartPE on my HD, and I got the same result when I tried to load that instead of Windows, this makes me think that the problem is not with the Windows installation. Just to be on the safe side though, i did a repair installation of Windows, no luck, upon restart I was confronted with the same message. Well, I figured, the problem must be with the BIOS. So I flashed it (the equivalent, in this case, of replacing the current BIOS with an updated version). Well, the new versi

It can't be the hard drives because it happens even with my brand new hard drive. If the drive I'm using boots perfectly and I clone it to another drive, surely they are both exactly the same. So why will the newly cloned drive not boot? But, I don't think that this relates directly to your problem (since a clean install wouldn't suffer from this issue). Could you describe what you're trying to do in a bit more detail so we can start troubleshooting it at the appropriate level? - John Microsoft MVP - Windows Experience ( http://www.carrona.org/ ) **If you need a more detailed explanation, please ask for it. user turn the computer power on, after running POST successfully computer jumps to load the operating system installed in http://how2repair.blogspot.com/p/how-to-repair-error-loading-operating.html the user computer's Hard Disk Drive (HDD). In case of Windows XP sometimes it appears that it shows an Error written "Error loading operating system". This Error appears most probably, https://wintoflash.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=35618 when a computer shutdown improper like power failure, etc. This cause the operating system installed format corrupt and thus computer fails to recognize the OS installed on HDD. Unknowingly users error loading install a new copy of OS and it caused them lost of their data, instead of installing a new copy of OS on your computer's HDD, It has a solution which is quiet simple and very less time consuming. Just follow the steps below and you'll get your windows running again like before. Step 1: Boot your computer with the help error loading operating of Windows XP Disc (Try to use the same disc, the one you use to install your previous OS). Step 2: when the installation wizard ask you these three options: Press 'Enter' to install a new copy of windows XP. Press 'R' to repair. 'F3' to quite. Select option number 2 "Press 'R' to repair". It will direct you to Command Prompt (DOS). And then just follow the instructions given that time appearing on your Display Monitor/LCD. Note: Default cursor location on prompt starts from C Drive "C:\windows>_", so be sure to change the cursor location to another Drive like D, E drives "D:\>_". You can switch the Drive by typing"D:" and press "Enter" or otherwise drive scan will not run properly. Step 3: Now when you enter into the D drive "D:\>_" type this command "CHKDSK(Space)C:" and press "Enter". CHKDSK (Check Disk) command will start scanning your drive and will fix the corrupt format problems by itself. Step 4: When the CHKDSK scanning completes, it will show you the current status of your scanned drive. After tha

To switch between the two, I don't use a boot menu and instead just press F8 and have the bios boot up the drive with XP on it. I was trying to install XP on my new SSD drive since I only use that for video capturing. Now that you know that, here is the problem.I had set my XP drive to default boot in the BIOS and after using Wintoflash to put a slipstreamed version of XP on the stick so it loaded up the SATA drivers during install along with Service Pack 3 and other options without burning another DVD, I proceeded to try and load XP on my SSD. When that didn't work (presumably because I didn't do something right), I tried loading XP back up to redo the installation so that it would only add the SATA drivers during install, but my screen showed "Error Loading Operating System" and no matter what I tried, it wouldn't go away. I wasn't too interested in finding out what the cause could have been and proceeded to load up Win 7 and make the new files there and then give it another go. After trying again with my Windows 7 as the default in the BIOS I proceeded to try and install it again only to fail once more. I attempted to reboot to try and find out how to proceed and that is when Windows 7 also came up with the problem.I finally just reinstalled XP from the DVD so my question is this:How did me trying to install XP to the flash drive corrupt ANYTHING on another drive and how do I fix my Windows 7 installation?
