Best solution Shaun o a b $ Windows 7 17 September 2013 14:49:10 Yes i do. The laptop has a key to enter the bios. The key to do this can be F1, F2,esc or Del key a second or two after power up. The splash screen should tell you what key to press to enter the bios also. You need to do one or two things. A. Set the boot order of devices, in what we call the boot list. 1. CD/DVD rom drive. 2. New hard drive. You may also have error loading operating system windows 8 usb boot to change the interface used. There will be an option in the bios that sets the modes. Sata or Ahci. If the mode is set to sata change it to Ahci mode. Save the settings before exiting the bios. Insert the windows cd/dvd in the drive. Restart you should get a message press any key to boot. Installing to New HD by John Mueller Error when trying to boot off of Windows 7 USB Installer: Error loading operating system I have been rolling out Windows 7 finally to upgrade http://www.shareyourrepair.com/2014/08/how-to-fix-cannot-boot-off-windows-7.html all of our Windows XP machines. At first I was going to install it http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/531421/error-loading-operating-system-cant-circumvent/ via DVD but our 25 lab computers only have CD drives in them. I then figured out how to make a bootable USB Windows 7 Installer disk and wrote up how you can do it too here. I successfully installed Windows 7 on one of our lab machines using the USB boot drive and ordered error loading 8 USB sticks from Amazon.com to do a mass deployment. You can purchase the same usb drives on amazon.com here. The very next computer I chose to install Windows 7 on happened to have a bad hard drive on it so I dropped in a new drive and then went to boot off the USB disk and got the following error: Error loading operating system I tried error loading operating every different USB connector on the box and it wouldn't work. I tried the first USB stick I'd created for installing Windows 7 and that didn't work, I tried setting the USB drive as the first disk in the boot order and that didn't work either. I tried the USB disk on another identical computer that already had Windows 7 installed on it and it worked fine there and then it occurred to me: The Windows 7 Installer was looking for a formatted Windows disk to store temporary files on and since the HD was an unformatted drive it was failing. How to Fix: Cannot Boot off Windows 7 USB Installer Drive When Installing to New HD Here is how to get around this error: Step 1: Boot up on Windows XP Install disk. Step 2: Using the Windows XP installer format the HD: Step 3: Install Windows XP from CD. You don't need to joint it to the domain or update it or anything, simply quit out as soon as you can after the installation is successful. Step 4: Boot off the USB Windows 7 Installer Disk. Now that you have a formatted drive it will work fine. Share this:ShareFacebookTwitter

Error loading operating system - can't circumvent Started by stonetech , Apr 17 2014 01:19 PM Page 1 of 2 1 2 Next Please log in to reply 15 replies to this topic #1 stonetech stonetech Members 9 posts OFFLINE Local time:09:12 PM Posted 17 April 2014 - 01:19 PM Hello - I have two Dell optiplex 7010 desktops that came with Windows 7 pre-loaded. The end user tried to reimage them with Ghost disks that were not formatted properly. Consequently the reimage process failed. The user then tried to use recovery disks, reinstallation disks and a reinstallation thumb drive but has been unsuccessful. The boot sequence has been changed in bios to put either the cd/dvd drive or the USB drive first. Regardless, rebooting the computer still brings up the black "Error loading operating system" screen. He cannot go any further. We've tried hitting F12 so that it prompts for where to boot, and even when selecting the optical or USB drive, it goes back to the same error. Any advice on how to get past this? Thanks for your help in advance.
