How to error loading operating system server 2003 fix Error Loading Operating System error 1. Symptoms of the problem When computer is powered up, an error message "Error loading operating system" error loading operating system linux appears (white-on-black letters in text mode and blinking cursor): 2. Normal boot sequence Normally computer boots as shown below (Windows 7 boot sequence is shown as example): BIOS loads 1st sector from HDD (Master Boot Record), verifies 55 https://neosmart.net/wiki/error-loading-operating-system/ AA signature and transfers control to Master Boot Record. Master Boot Record scans partition table for active partition, then it loads 1st sector from active partition, verifies 55 AA signature, and transfers control to Boot Sector. Boot Sector loads 15 additional sectors from the beginning of disk (Volume Boot Record) and transfers control to first additional sector of VBR. Volume Boot Record loads BOOTMGR file from root directory of boot partition into the memory and transfers http://www.prime-expert.com/articles/b13/fix-error-loading-operating-system.php control to it. BOOTMGR loads Boot\BCD registry hive and displays boot menu. BOOTMGR is able to run memory test and set safe mode boot flag per explicit user request. But normally, it loads winload.exe when computer boots normally (cold startup) or winresume.exe (when computer resumes from hibernation). Winload.exe opens SYSTEM registry hive, gets list of drivers, loads NTOSKRNL.exe, loads drivers (*.SYS files) and transfers control to NTOSKRNL.exe. Winresume.exe loads memory dump from hiberfil.sys and transfers control to it. 3. Defect in the boot sequence which leads to Error Loading Operating System error Defect in the boot sequence which is a reason for Error Loading Operating System is shown below: BIOS loads 1st sector from HDD (Master Boot Record), verifies 55 AA signature and transfers control to Master Boot Record. Master Boot Record scans partition table for active partition. There is one active partition, so Master Boot Record tries to load 1st sector from active partition, but sector is either outside device sector count or does not contain 55 AA signature. So MBR emits "Error Loading Operating System" error message and halts machine. The rest of usual boot events does not happen. 4. How to fix Error Loading Operating System error 1) Download EBCD and burn it to CD/DVD according to the instructions, then set up your BIOS to boot from CD. You need full EBCD version to actually
user turn the computer power on, after running POST successfully computer jumps to load the operating system installed in the user computer's Hard Disk Drive (HDD). In case of Windows XP sometimes it appears http://how2repair.blogspot.com/p/how-to-repair-error-loading-operating.html that it shows an Error written "Error loading operating system". This Error appears most probably, http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1804323/error-loading-operating-system.html when a computer shutdown improper like power failure, etc. This cause the operating system installed format corrupt and thus computer fails to recognize the OS installed on HDD. Unknowingly users install a new copy of OS and it caused them lost of their data, instead of installing a new copy of OS on your computer's HDD, It has a solution which error loading is quiet simple and very less time consuming. Just follow the steps below and you'll get your windows running again like before. Step 1: Boot your computer with the help of Windows XP Disc (Try to use the same disc, the one you use to install your previous OS). Step 2: when the installation wizard ask you these three options: Press 'Enter' to install a new copy of windows XP. Press 'R' to repair. 'F3' to error loading operating quite. Select option number 2 "Press 'R' to repair". It will direct you to Command Prompt (DOS). And then just follow the instructions given that time appearing on your Display Monitor/LCD. Note: Default cursor location on prompt starts from C Drive "C:\windows>_", so be sure to change the cursor location to another Drive like D, E drives "D:\>_". You can switch the Drive by typing"D:" and press "Enter" or otherwise drive scan will not run properly. Step 3: Now when you enter into the D drive "D:\>_" type this command "CHKDSK(Space)C:" and press "Enter". CHKDSK (Check Disk) command will start scanning your drive and will fix the corrupt format problems by itself. Step 4: When the CHKDSK scanning completes, it will show you the current status of your scanned drive. After that just type "Exit" and then press "Enter", your computer will restart. Now you can run your windows like it was running before on your computer. NOTE: This procedure can also be useto fix same problem in Windows VISTA. The key to do this can be F1, F2,esc or Del key a second or two after power up. The splash screen should tell you what key to press to enter the bios also. You need to do one or two things. A. Set the boot order of devices, in what we call the boot list. 1. CD/DVD rom drive. 2. New hard drive. You may also have to change the interface used. There will be an option in the bios that sets the modes. Sata or Ahci. If the mode is set to sata change it to Ahci mode. Save the settings before exiting the bios. Insert the windows cd/dvd in the drive. Restart you should get a message press any key to boot. Share keitht44720 17 September 2013 15:41:06 Shaun o said:Yes i do.
