1.4.1-0ubuntu1 ". When I get to the product key part and enter my valid product key, it gives me a message that's header said "Invalid CD key!", but the rest of it says "Error loading the PID Generator DLL. The DLL could not be found! Please make sure the file is available in the installation directory and try again," (Note that the comma is a part of the message, and that is where it ends). I was able to locate said DLL, but when I tried to open it, I found out that Ubuntu can't open DLLs, not even with Wine. This is probably because just the DLLs themselves aren't meant to be open separate anyway. Is Wine just having a problem loading the http://forum.agecommunity.com/forums/thread/214955.aspx DLL for some reason? What's wrong? I need very specific steps to fix it, as I am a Ubuntu n00b. I have Q4Wine installed and see options like "override DLL" that might help if I knew how to use them. Help Please! I don't know how to make Wine run as XP with a service pack. actionparsnip (andrew-woodhead666) said on 2013-02-14: #3 Did you check the Wine AppDb for compatibility? Weboh (webohjy) said on 2013-02-14: #4 Yes. I found out from there the steps to do to make it work, and now I have a different problem. When Disk 1 finishes installing, it asks for disk 2. When I put disk two in a new virtual drive, it doesn't work. I tried putting it in a virtual drive and unmounting the first drive, and putting it a physical drive. It won't recognize the disk any way. actionparsnip (andrew-woodhead666) said on 2013-02-14: #5 Can you browse to another location in the installer? If so, you could run winecfg and tell wine to use a second folder as another CD drive and mount the 2nd CD to that instead of the same folder. You could also try playonlinux. Weboh (webohjy) said on 2013-02-14: #6 Not within the installer, especially not after the install has begun. Here is what the installer looks like and what I have alre

The pidgen.dll has a 'dependacy' on the mfc42.dll - which both reside in C:\Windows\System32 DIR (or should) & in C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386 Well, on the computer that wasn't allowing me to install (one would other wouldn't) the mfc42.dll was missing from the C:\..\System32 DIR - so a simple copy & paste from the C:\Win...\Service..\i386 and it started working. :) Thanks for offering the help on that web s

Can't Install the game, asks me for .dll file LoveyDuvey Posted 2011-04-27 14:46 Hey everyone, I didnt purchase Crossover mac yet but i tried both trial versions, the regular Crossover for mac and Crossover Games. I want to Install Age of Empires 3 (the PC version) on my mac that is running snow leopard. First everything works fine and I'm sure CrossOver would install it if this error message woudln't show up. After i run the installer it first asks me for the cd-key. When i enter it i get an error message saying: "Error loading the PID Generator DLL. The DLL could not be found! Please make sure the file is available in the installation directory and try again" I've checked the disc and the file is ON the disc that i am trying to install. Where do i have to put that file if i want it to be installed? Please help! Oh and, don't say that theres a Mac version of aoe, i have it already and want to play on PC servers, thanks in advance guys!!
