I've posted a test launcher that you can download and place in your PidginPortable directory. You'll then need to browse to the PidginPortable\App\Pidgin directory and rename pidgin.exe to pidgin-portable.exe. This new fix works in conjunction with Pidgin's ability to work from a self-contained directory but preserves the ability for us to use the CommonFiles shared GTK with GIMP, the ability to use a GTKLegacy for Windows 98/Me/NT and the ability for the data to be stored in the error loading pidgin proper place for PortableApps.com Format. Please give this a test even if you haven't encountered the issue mentioned so we can be sure it works with shared GTK, legacy GTK, aspell, etc. Thanks, John Top Log in or register to post comments August 24, 2007 - 12:59pm #2 bgillis Offline Last seen: 3 years 2 months ago Joined: 2007-05-11 04:25 Thanks John I will test the new launcher at work on Monday and will let you know about the results. But when I tried to start pidgin I got these two errors. Pidgin.exe - Entry Point Not Found The procedure entry point g_thread_gettime could not be located in the dynamic link library libglib-2.0-0.dll. Error Error loading pidgin.dll. Error: (127) The specified procedure could not be found. So anyone know what I can do? Trillian is annoying me and apparently Pidgin has everything trillian does and more stuff, so I figured Id switch. Buuuuut Im gettin the errors so yeah. Jordan of Elienor, Human ShamanLardalish on February 20080 Posts Richard M. Nixon February 2008 edited February 2008 Try uninstalling it again and deleting anything that showed up in your My Documents and/or your Program Files (or wherever you installed it). Restart and reinstall and see if that helps. I haven't had this specific problem, so that may not solve it. If you don't mind taking a while to set it up, I would recommend giving Miranda a try (www.miranda-im.org). It's got pretty much the same functionality as Pidgin but is far more customisable. The caveat is that nigh-infinite-customisability can require a whole lot of tweaking to get it to do what you want. Richard M
