Illustrator CS4 and just updated my Mac to OS X Yosemite. After installing the new software, I've got some bugs with Illustrator. Namely, upon opening the program, I get the message "Error loading plugins". The plugin in question is "photoshopimport.aip". I'm not sure if this is related to the next issue - I'm no longer able to open .tif files in Illustrator and says that they error loading plugins epsxe are "an unknown format and cannot be opened". I have uninstalled and re-installed all Adobe programs, but I still get the same error messages.Naturally, most of the work I do is in Illustrator with .tif files. Can anyone offer some help with these problems? Is this a case of the new OS X and CS4 having compatibility issues? Am I going to have to bite the bullet and upgrade to a newer version of Adobe? Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I followed all the steps and wrote C++ code in Visual studio 2013 and it built successfully without any errors and 2 files were generated *.aip and *.ilk. Now the tutorial said to place the plug-in binary file in the illustrator's plugin folder. It didn't specify which error loading plugins file is the binary file (I assumed the *.aip file) and the plugin path for illustrator (I think this is the path "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS4\Plug-ins") Now when I launch the adobe illustrator application, on startup I get the following error. Error loading plugins. *.aip Can anyone tell me what's wrong. Is the path wrong ? Is the file wrong ? or is there some obvious step that I am missing ? visual-c++ plugins adobe-illustrator share|improve this question asked Aug 20 '15 at 13:50 Omar Iqbal 264 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote accepted I've found the solution. The problem was the tutorial is specific for 32 bit system and doesn't mention 1 change we have to make for running our 64 bit plugin. I added the x64 platform to my project. Here are the steps: Select the "Build | Configuration Manager..." menu item. In the "Configuration Manager" dialog, choose "" from the "Active solution platform" drop down. In the "New Solution Platform" dialog, "x64" should already be selected in the top drop down and "win32" should be selected in the "Copy settings from:" drop down (and the "Create n

All the applications - except Illustrator - are run without any problems or error messages. Only when starting Illustrator CS3 there is an error message displayed saying that approx. 70 plugins could not be loaded. Some of them are: 3D.aip ASLib.aip Action Panel.aip Align.aip Alternate Glyphs.aip Art Style.aip ArtOnPath.aip Asset Mgmt.aip BrushManager.aip Calligraph Brush Tool.aip End so on... The application has been sequenced to Q:\ADOBCS3.10 and the normal 'setup.exe' has been used, together with a deployment.xml file. During the monitoring phase all the applications have been start up successfully. After sequencing each application has been started to determine feature block 1. I hope someone has a suggestion helping me to solve this issue. Sequencer: App-V 4.5 OS: Win XP SP2 With kind regards, Willem-Jan Monday, January 26, 2009 11:51 AM Reply | Quote Answers 1 Sign in to vote Hi, Could it be that Illustrator loads those plugins without using proper path? If that's the case, I suggest that you either verify to what directory WORKINGDIR -element is pointing at (you can look where Illustrator's shortcut points to as working / Start in -directory when installed without virtualization) or alternatively modify/add virtualized PATH environment variable to include that plugin -directory? br, Kalle Marked as
