My trusty error loading operating system windows xp old Dell desktop, which I’ve had for about 10 years, has finally caused me a problem. This morning, I turned the computer on, I get the Windows XP screen, then I get the error loading operating system windows xp virtualbox log-in screen, with my name and icon and my wife’s name and icon. When I click on my name to log in(or my wife’s), it seems like it’s going to be OK, but then I get the following errors—“Windows cannot load user profile, but has logged you on with the default profile”. I click OK or let the time tick out, but then it just stays, doesn’t

log me in. I’ve also received these error messages “insufficient system resources exist to complete requested service” and “user.ini.exe failed”. I’ve shut down several times and restarted, but keep getting “Windows cannot load user profile, but has logged you on with the default profile.” I can’t log on to get to control panel, my computer, etc……At this point, I would love to just be able to save some of my recent documents and photos if you think it would be too expensive to fix or not even worth it for such an old machine. I don’t even know my administrator name and password anymore it has been so long since I created it. I’ve read a couple of things about creating a new profile and user, but I can’t log in to do any of that. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Most of your profile is how your desktop looks (assuming that you are the only user) and it is probably the same now as it was. If you want it back, first try system restore. If it will not work for you try to reboot to your Windows XP CD. Allow it to go until it asks "found old version of windows, do you want to repair? Click "R" and follow all prompts. When asked if you want to register now click later as it is still registered. This should restore all settings you had before unless your profile is too corrupted. 0 Discussion Starter chibex 8 Years Ago It still did not work out. Is there any other option it? or should reformat the laptop? -1 Featured Reply Bob_180_Bob 41 8 Years Ago No!! that is the very last resort but can sometimes be the best answer. If you have done a windows repair from your CD and it did not work I can offer no other help, but there are many here better qualified than I , wait and let some one else assist you. 0 Discussion Starter chibex 8 Years Ago Alright am waiting but can it be a virus that is causing all this, if yes, is there any good anti-virus that can get it off my system. thanks in advance.. -1 Featured Reply Bob_180_Bob 41 8 Years Ago Yes, download AVG free, it is a good and free checker. Some viruses will not alow you to download a virus checker, google a free online check and run one of them. free.avg.com/ww.download-avg-anti-virus-free-edition 0 sys life 8 Years Ago hi this is ram i just saw ur problem u just try to start system in safe mode and try to login through admin account instead of ur local account and try to delet ur local account and re creat new account so u can access ur computer 0 STLShawn 8 Years Ago Just my opinion, if someone brought me a machine with this problem, this is what i would do::::: classically, there's no "good" way to recover your user, if windows cannot load the account, most of the time is very corrupt and it will need to be recreated, but more on that later,, first, let's save your stuff. Here's how i would do it:::: Download
