The computer use to load Windows 3.11 when you turned it on. Now it gives the C: prompt and when I try to load windows it respons with "error loading progman.exe". I really could use some advice on this one. I am an adult basic literacy instructor and the students rely on the computer for many educational activities. Unfortunately, I rather isolated and have no tech support. Reply With Quote October 17th, 2000,09:08 AM #2 Vernon Frazee View Profile View Forum Posts Visit Homepage Virtual PC Specialist!!! To correct this open your SYSTEM.INI file and edit the line that begins Shell= to read Shell=PROGMAN> EXE. A simple way to open your SYSTEM.INI is to go to the File Manager and open the system sub directory of your Windows directory and locate the SYSEDIT.EXE file and double click on it. This will display your SYSTEM.INI file as well as other Windows system files.
