that prevents the application from starting. The error pops up an alert box with a message that says Error loading Python DLL: C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\_MEI121082\python27.dll (error code 1114) I have seen various fixes around the internet, on tech tips http://productforums.google.com/d/topic/drive/EeYvkXH5my4 websites as well as Google Product Forums and most of the solutions are either temporary or did not work at all, for me. I tried the tip that involved going to your %temp% folder where the pyhton27.dll file is located and altering the permissions for the directory. This worked temporarily but as soon as my computer restarted, the error would happen again so the fix was very temporary. I also saw another solution that involved placing http://getmetech.com/technology-tips/easy-fix-for-google-drive-fatal-error-python-dll-code-1114/ a copy of the python27.dll that Google Drive is having trouble accessing, in the Google Drive folder and your Windows System32 directory. When I tried this, Google Drive would not start at all so I was in even worse shape than before. Alas, I tried a tip that directly relates to permissions issues with software and sure enough, it fixed the Google Drive Fatal Error right away. Google Drive Fatal Error Python DLL SOLUTION The actual solution that will solve the Google Drive Fatal Error permanently is even easier than the other solutions I have found around the net. It is one simple step, that anyone can do, and the problem is solved permanently. All you have to do to fix the Google Drive Python DLL Error is to tell Google Drive to run with Administrator privileges. To do this, follow this procedure: 1. Find your shortcut to Google Drive, this can be in the Start Menu under Programs or anywhere there is a shortcut to open Google Drive. Right click on the shortcut and in the menu that pops up, click Properties. 2. When the Shortcut Properties for Google Drive window pops up, click on the Compatibility tab and at the bottom, Put a check mark in the check box that says Run this program as an Administrator then press OK. That's it!

Nothing else was changed. PyInstaller member codewarrior0 commented Jun 7, 2015 This might be my fault. Error code 14001 is "side-by-side configuration is incorrect". Could you do error loading python the following to get info about what the side-by-side loader is doing? Open an administrator command prompt Run the command sxstrace trace -logfile:trace.out to begin tracing. Launch the pyinstaller created .exe Press ENTER in the command prompt Run the command sxstrace parse -logfile:trace.out -outfile:trace.txt && start trace.txt trace.txt should open up. Paste it here or on gist so I can look at it. PyInstaller member codewarrior0 commented Jun 7, 2015 Also, could you run pyinstaller with the -d option to generate the exe? That will make the exe output some debug info which could be useful. psi29a commented Jul 9, 2015 I had the same problem, I solved it by going back to the 67610f2 revision. psi29a commented Jul 9, 2015 I checked out the tip of the develop branch, I created the binary the same way. by jameshanley39@yahoo.co.uk, Jul 21, 2008. Guest A msgbox comes up , when trying to run an executable, after installing an app, and the msgbox says " Error code 14001 - this application failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem " Reinstalling doesn't help. I didn't bother to look in the registry to remove things, that would have been a last resort. The app had been installed in teh past and windows xp removed and reinstalled (I guess when doing that it keeps the "program files" directory then, (and I think documents and settings - just adding whatever profiles to it). Obviously the windows directly had been replaced.. But none of that was the cause. People have had this error without that. The solution, was to do with the software using " MS Visual C++ Library " and there being some clash between it and the MS Visual C++ already installed. This may then have affected that software, and systems with the .net framework installed (I had to install the .net framework to get msklc to work, msklc is good program, useful to some). Maybe the .net framework uses MS Visual C++ The solution one person posted was to clean/uninstall the Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable. I didn't look for it.. But I saw another solution that said Install it SIMPLE SOLUTION! " Try installing this http://www.softdevlabs.com/Hercules/vcredist_x86.exe " It worked. note- I guess MS Visual C++ redistributable is a bit like VB Runtime files, or java runtime environment. It is a core of the language, to allow programs to run. Programmers/Developers using that language would have a more complete thing with tools to compile the language and more. But users just need certain core files. I got the error trying to install regex coach A great program for one who is not familiar with regex, or learning it. And wants to just get a regex sorted out as a one-off. Or wants to figure out how regex works in detail. Just a great tool. The linux
