The problem can be solved by temporarily disabling the Thunderbolt controller during installation. To successfully install ESXi 6.0 on the NUC6i7KYK: Create a bootable USB Installer with Rufus (Howto: Bootable ESXi Installer USB Flash Drive) and plug it into the NUC Power on the NUC and press F2 to open Intel Visual BIOS Navigate to Advanced > Devices > Onboard Devices and disable Thunderbolt Controller Install ESXi Restart the NUC, enter BIOS and re-enable thunderbolt Controller The NUC works with an unmodified version of ESXi 6.0 Update 2, including: Network Adapter I219-LM (PCI ID: 8086:15b7) NVMe Controller (The NVMe driver, which replaces the AHCI driver are included in the ESXi Image. Packages like xahci are not required) Additional notes: The SD Slot does not work with ESXi I could not verify the Thunderbolt Port. (Are there any TB v3 devices in the market yet?) If you need additional Network Adapters, the best solution is to use an USB 3.0 NIC with the vghetto-ax88179 driver by William Lam. We had a nice email discussion in the last week regarding the error, brought together by Raymond Huh. Together with VMware employee William Lam (virtuallyGhetto) and an engineer in the background, Paul Braren (TinkerTry) and Olli Salonen (The NUC Blog). William Lam has also written about the solut

Go toSystem BIOS(Press F2) 2.PCI configuration>MMCFG 3. Change the value fromAutoto2 GB 4. Change the value ofMemory Mapped IO above 4 GtoEnabled 5.Saveandrebootthe system 6. Installation will complete. Hopefully you will solve this issue by yourself, not like me, after http://www.virten.net/2016/05/esxi-installation-on-nuc6i7kyk-fails-with-fatal-error-10-out-of-resources/ a couple of days with help from my Cisco technical friends:) Apparently, the error cannot be reproduced on the same system but with no GPUs, as i have it, or on ESXi 5.1. Cisco told me that they're working with VMware on this one and hopefully they will create a more fashionable way on getting the systems up and running. /s.v00 Fatal error: 10 (Out of resources) ESXi 5.5 By Manny Sidhu · July 3, 2015 · My VMware experiences · Leave a comment While creating new a host in my home lab this morning, I received the following error when attempting to install ESXi 5.5 on it. The error's quite obvious, it needs more grunt. Where though? Looked back at the VM's settings (this was a nested host) and realized I forgot to up the RAM on it from the default of 512MB. Powered the VM off, bumped its RAM up to 8GB, powered back on, no issues. I'm surprised it went this far, should've bombed out earlier.
