Submit Posted by SQLVersion on 12/29/2009 at 3:28 AM yes.. it worked for me.. after applying SP3 only for Client tools.. thank you Posted by rmiao on 8/23/2006 at 9:46 AM That worked, thanks for the tip. Posted by Microsoft on 8/21/2006 at 11:22 AM To clarify my previous comment, it should only be necessary to rerun the SP1 Client Tools update. (In the setup UI, just select Client Tools for upgrading...)Thanks,Peter Posted by Microsoft on 8/21/2006 at 10:49 AM Please try reinstalling Client Tools on each of the nodes again. There is an issue were SSIS removes registry infomation that can be fixed by reinstalling Client Tools. Please let me know if your problem is still not resolved. Thanks,Peter Posted by rmiao on 8/15/2006 at 9:13 AM Peter,Client tools were installed at first place with sql engine, but installed SSIS separately later on every node of the cluster. I can connect to SSIS on 4th node (passive one in the cluster) without problem, but can't connect to SSIS on any of active node. Is it because didn't install SSIS with sql engine? Thanks. Posted by Microsoft on 8/8/2006 at 11:53 AM Thanks for letting us know about this problem. This problem can be caused when Client Tools is not installed. Please install Client Tools on the server or node running SSIS. Please let us know if this solution does not addess the problem. Please reactive the issue if not addressed by solution. Thanks,Peter Saddow Posted by rmiao on 7/24/2006 at 8:04 AM Any update on this issue? Sign in to post a workaround. Please enter a workaround. one of the production servers. The installation was successful and the first thing anyone would do to confirm is connect to SSIS through SSMS. Surprise! The error message reads "Connect to SSIS Service on machine "ServerName" failed: Error loading type library/DLL." and there is no mention of the name of the DLL which is having issues. The next option is to check if we are able to connect to the SSIS from a remote server. Yes, we were able to connect to this instance of SSIS from some other server. Now it was confirmed that the problem did not exist with the SSIS installation as such. It https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/165784/connect-to-ssis-service-on-machine-servername-failed-error-loading-type-library-dll had to do something with the DLLs located on the same box. Since SSIS is having issues, the first DLL that would come to mind is the DTS.dll. This file is usually located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\90\DTS\Binn folder. While I was navigating to this folder, I observed that a folder named 100 was also residing in the same location as that of 90 folder. This hinted that someone had tried http://www.sqldbadiaries.com/2010/09/01/connect-to-ssis-service-on-machine-failed-error-loading-type-librarydll/ some of the components of SQL Server 2008 and it could have possibly messed up some of the files related to SQL Server 2005. Hence I planned to register the DTS.dll again. Just opened the DTS.dll using C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\regsvr32.exe in Windows Explorer and it said "Registered successfully". This can also be done using the command line regsvr32.exe. Again opened up SSMS and as predicted we were able to connect to the Integration Services. Last week I was requested to install SSIS on an existing SQL instance, I installed the SSIS successfully but it failed to open in the SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). After some troubleshooting and msn tips, I understood that is a declared bug on MS SQL 2005.The Existing SQL instance version is 9.0.3215 which is running on Windows 2003 64bit Edition. So I've to install SISS with SP2 and Hotfix 3215. I've installed successfully the SSIS component (hope you aware how to add a component on an existing SQL instance or refer http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913967 ) and installed SP2 and Hotfix 3215 on top of it. All went fine and rebooted t
