ipmitool from pkgsrc, but the open interface isn't working. For example, # ipmitool -I open Error loading interface open I've successfully installed and used IPMI on RHEL5 using the same machine, so it must be something involving NetBSD. Any ideas on why this isn't working? Thanks, Zack Brown Hi Zack, Admittedly I haven't used ipmitool until reading your post, but I don't see "open" as being an available interface in the -h output; only lan and lanplus. I've just given it a try on one of our 2950's (obviously not as shiny and new as your R210) and the following command worked for me: ipmitool -H

by: [ date ] [ thread ] [ subject ] [ author ] I was trying to enable SOL on my Dell R410 by using ipmitool. I get this error: ipmitool -H 10.0.0.26 -I lanplus -U root sol activate Password: Error loading interface lanplus Any clue what this might be? How can I get the lanplus interface loaded? Is this a driver issue or does this mean that my BMC does not have a lanplus interface at all. The LAN interface does work file but apparantly "sol activate" needs lanplus. ipmitool -H 10.0.0.26 -I lan -U root sol activate Error: This command is only available over the lanplus interface -- Rahul Previous message: Best distro for Xen 3.4.1 installation on old PowerEdge 2900 Next message: Selling a Dell Poweredge T300 Messages sorted by: [ date ] [ thread ] [ subject ] [ author ] More information about the Linux-PowerEdge mailing list
